After the Seattle Seahawks loss to the Rams (21-19) it may be a little too early to throw in the towel of their hopes in winning the NFC WEST crown.
Over the next month Seattle has a relatively easy schedule. But finishing the season with a W against the Rams, Colts, and 49ers is still left to be seen.
The remaining 7 games are critical for Seattle to win in order to have any possibility of walking away with the NFC West title, let alone, making the playoffs.
The last thing they want to do is get into a situation where the Seahawks have to depend on other teams to lose in order to get into post season football.
After losing to the Rams and the 49ers beating the Cardinals, even with seven games left, the Seahawks once again, are losing control of their own destiny.

The Detroit Lions did not fare much better than the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Lions QB Gerald Goff threw his first interception of the season last night.
He also had only 14 out of 37 completions, a season worst outing.
Combine that with 3 of his passes being batted down.
Dan Campbell endured criticism for his failure to convert on 4th downs.
Campbell called 5 forth down attempts to try and get a first down and produced 0.
At 6-4 and sitting in the NFC NORTH cellar (just above Minnesota), the Lions should bounce back in the win column next week at Ford Field when NYG come to town.
Here's a couple of questions I have for the FireBrand.
Is there still hope for the Lions securing a 1st round bye after the Eagles loss?
Is there still hope for the Lions repeating as the #1 overall seed in the conference?

Did you know that before the Rams game on Sunday Sam Darnold had thrown an interception in the last three Seahawks games? Not only that, but Darnold also had 3 fumbles in those games as well.
That is a combined 6 turnovers in the last three contests. Yet, there seemed to be no red flags or concerns about Darnold's ball security by Macdonald and his coaching staff.
Seattle gained more total yardage than LA, 414-249, to no avail. By now, we all know Darnold committed 4 more turnovers (interceptions) in Sundays game at SoFi stadium.
Because of Darnold's carelessness, the Rams forced the Seahawks to play from behind for about 51 minutes. Darnold threw a season high 44 passes in his attempt to catch up with the Rams. The Seahawk's running game is not up to par the way that Mike Macdonald and Gary Kubiak want it. The backs are only averaging 3.8 yards per carry (29th).
I understand I'm being hard on Sam Darnold because he has been very consistent in turning the ball over in the last four games. How much? He's given up the ball in the last four games 10 times. I wonder if Macdonald is starting to get concerned now?
He's got to find a way to turn things around and get Darnold stable in taking care of the ball which translates into "no more turnovers".
If Darnold does not start to limit, or stop coughing up the ball in fumbles and interceptions immediately, you can fill in the blanks here: NO P_ _Y O _ F's.
Thanks to Darnold, the Seattle Seahawks lead the league with 20 turnovers. Fourteen of them by yours truly, Sam Darnold.
The Seahawks last playoff appearance was in 2022. I watched them lose that wild card game to the SF 49's in a hospital bed. Lets take a look at the at the NFC picture tonight (Monday).
1. Philadelphia Eagles 8-2
2. Los Angeles Rams 8-2
3. Chicago Bears 7-3
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6-4
5. Seattle Seahawks 7-3
6. Green Bay Packers 6-3-1
7. San Francisco 49er's 7-4
( I'm not sure if the Detroit Lions qualify to the above stats. Please correct me if I left them out, thanks.)
The Seahawks took a nosedive in the NFC playoff picture because of being beaten by the Rams on Sunday.
Seattle fell from the two-seed and leaders in the NFC WEST to the 5th seed in the conference.
If the playoffs started tomorrow, the Seahawks would travel to Tampa Bay and play the Buccaneers (they beat us in week five). If Darnold hadn't thrown 4 interceptions in LA, we would probably be sitting at 8-2 instead of the Rams.
The Rams scored the first TD early in the first quarter (7-0) and at the end of the quarter they led 14-3.
Seattle ran the ball 29 times pounding the ground, but the game was in Darnold's corner and he "fell apart" by throwing four interceptions.
Both teams meet again at Lumen Field in week 16, potentially with the NFC WEST CROWN on the line.
I wonder if, and hope that Darnold will correct and overcome his mistakes by then, or we may see a repeat ("deja vu") of Sundays match-up here in Seattle on December 18th which will be played on Thursday Night Football.
