Aidan Hutchinson needs help. Especially as he returns to the 2025 NFL season after suffering a severe leg injury in 2024.

26yr old Boye Mafe is on the final year of his rooking contract upon entering into the 2025 NFL season.
Seattle's talented pass rusher has consistently gotten better year after year.
Mafe finished the 2024 season with 40 tackles (25 solo), while adding 3 passes defensed and a fumble recovery across 15 games.
Mafe also rebounded well after a knee injury early in the season, securing 6.0 sacks for the second straight year.

A Lions hypothetical trade pitch to obtain the services of Boye Mafe would have Detroit sending Seattle a 2026 2nd rd pick.
And a conditional 5th rd that could turn into a 4th rd pick if Mafe gets 10 or more sacks.
It's undeniable that Hutch and Mafe being paired up together on the defensive front would give the lions a dual threat at wrapping up the opposing QB.

GM Holmes doesn't seem to be concerned. We all want a power Edge Rusher and the outcry to secure one is fairly strong yet Holmes does nothing. Detroit fans at this point would be happy to see last years Hutch injury solution Z'Darius Smith resigned....Yet, Holmes seemingly drags his feet.

I assume GM Brad Holmes has the final say to the importance of bringing in high caliber players that could be contrary to what HC Dan Campbell would like to put on his team. FB, I don't know anything about Detroit's front office relationships and antics. How do Holmes and Campbell rub shoulders? Does the GM respect Dan, and is he willing to step back and give the HC what he wants? Is there friction between them? Do they get along? Our GM, John Schieder has rebounded to having a good 2025 draft and obtaining some quality NFL vets this off season. Schieder and HC Mike Macdonald also have a good working relationship. And I think the Seahawks will assail in more victories this year than in 2024. Back to Brad Holmes. Can he be a hinderance or beneficial in choosing and signing players to the Detroit Lions upcoming 2025 NFL season campaign? The regular season is still a little far off. Do you think Holmes will make the right decisions as he continues to build the Lions team with bringing in quality players in the next two months in order to fill Lion pressing positional needs? Will Brad and Dan see eye to eye in whatever Holmes does?

Brad Holmes is the wheeler dealer. Sheilah Hamp (Ford) is the owner that has ultimate say but gives free reins to GM Holmes. The 3 get along in a tight knit relationship each having a job to do. That is how the Likns rose to the top so quickly. It's an amazing trio. There is no one that can say why we haven't signed a vet star Edge. Brad said he isn't shopping for one yet info leaks out they are talking. One thing for sure we still have able bodies on that side, especially looking at the Egyptian we drafted this year.

Hamp sounds like a Jerry Jones, team intertwined and the official power broker at the top.
I don't want the Seahawks to trade Boye Mafe to another team. Let him play out his final year here. We have a highly talented rotation of edge rushers on the roster. Mafe is a part of that rotation. If Boye has a "monster" year, they can sign him to a new contract at the end of the season. Or, if push comes to shove, John Schneider could always slap the franchise tag on him. We need to keep Boye Mafe on the 2025 roster. He's too powerful of an asset to trade away. If Brad Holmes needs to shop for a highly rated pass rusher, find one somewhere else. Don't come snooping around our pass rushers for one.

No I think Boye is safe with you

Just saw a brief podcast clip on what AI has predicted for the Detroit Lions 2025 season.

According to AI, the Lions will finish their 2025 season campaign with a 13 - 4 record.

Nothing was said on who would beat the Detroit Lions.

Nothing was said what AI predicted for a Seattle Seahawk 2025 record either.

So that leaves me to gaze into my crystal ball (pun intended) to come up with my own Seahawk 2025 regular season record.

The Seattle Seahawks will go 12 - 5 in 2025 and will advance to a wild card playoff birth.

They will also set the tone for their season by winning the season home opener at Lumen field on Sept 7th against the dreaded SF 49'ers.

My prediction contradicts all the so-called NFL guru commentors who are saying that the Seattle Seahawks are projected to finish last in the NFC WEST.

Seahawks will do better than most think. Honestly these gurus are just looking for clicks and likes. They say things to troll the fanbase into a frenzy to benefit their little egos.

I just saw us and Detroit playing on August 8. That's less than a month away!

Look, as it were, through a telescope that will bring it up near to you; look into hell, and hear them groan; then turn the glass upwards and look at heaven, and see the saints there, in their white robes, with their harps in their hands, and hear them sing the song of redeeming love; and ask yourself--Is it possible, that I should prevail with God to elevate the sinner there? Do this, and if you are not a wicked man, and a stranger to God, you will soon have as much of the spirit of prayer as your body can sustain. -Charles Finney 'The Spirit of Prayer' from 'Lectures On Revivals of Religion'

The coverage is so slim I'll probably have to go with radio broadcast. It wont be long now.
