But of course, we all know what happened in Superbowl 51.
Tom Brady orchestrated, if not the best comeback in SB history.
He led the Patriots to win it all in 2017.
Starting from a 25-point deficit (Falcons 28 Patriots 3) Brady singlehandedly brought his team back to win SB 51, 34-28.

After Atlanta lost that game, Dan Quinns head was put on the chopping block, and he was eventually fired in 2020.

Regardless of the Falcons Super Bowl debacle in 2017, I've always liked Dan Quinn.
This stems back to the Legion of Boom days when Quinn was the defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks.
Dan did earn a Ring when the Seahawks defeated the Broncos in the 2014 Super Bowl 43-8.

Quinn has started his new tenure as head coach of the Washington Commanders.
He is having success in his second hire as a head coach in the NFL.
His team is in first place in the NFC EAST 4-1.
I wish all the best for Dan as he leads his new football team, being the head coach, in the remainder of the 2024 NFL season.

Here's a brief recap (about 7 mins) of the Seahawks SB victory in 2014.

I like him too. Just not as my head coach. And that was Shanny that got us to the SB, and lost it for us, and Quinn didn't intervene to keep him from just running the ball and taking the FG.

You would know a lot more about the "internal wheels" within the teams mechanics in operation between Quinn and Shanahan back then, being a Falcon fan and all.
I always thought Arthur Blank put the bulk of the weight of that Falcon loss on Dan. I never read that, it was just my own speculation.
So fuego, it sounds like what you posted above is a combination of both Shanahan and Quinns sideline theatrics that blew the Falcon lead and the game. Shanahan's poor offensive decision making, and Quinns refusal to override Kyles poor play calling sealed the SB victory for New England. Does that sound correct? Or was one of the two more instrumental, or at fault, if you will, in losing the SB to the Patriots? Did Dan Quinns defensive scheme going into that contest fail to stop Brady from coming back to win? Maybe both Dan and Kyle failed to execute the game plan, offensively and defensively which jointly contributed to the loss. Your post got my mind thinking, so I'll end it here. Your opinion matters, of course.
