Are you critter friendly? Do you do anything to encourage birds or other types of visitors to your yard?

The retirement property we bought in Alabama a few years ago is a BIRD sanctuary..when we move there permanently I intend to encourage humming birds and bluebirds (my favorite).
We have an eagle and cranes, and lots of ducks and other birds...I love it..
We have a carport shed with rafters and now have three nests built in the rafters...
Get a possum under the deck once in a while. We've had a coon or two on the roof, oh yea, and a college student once too.
We also have two huge black walnut trees, with a lot of squirrels. If you are out in he yard they will actually move to be directly over you. There they peel the walnuts, dropping little pieces of the fruit on your head. I think may finally have enough money to get one taken down this fall and the other in another year.
Had a very sickly fox walking down the sidewalk one day a few years ago.
Right now we have thousands of partying soldiers in the garden.
We live in the middle of town too
We have a bird feeder out some of the time. A lot of different plants to attract certain insects. Don't want to encourage any other animals.

I've got an English walnut tree and the squirrels go crazy over it. Ive had pretty much every color of squirrel in that tree, sometimes at the same time and when they're peeling away it sounds like its raining.
What are going to do with the wood from your black walnut tree? It can be valuable, are you going to sell it or since you're an artist create some masterpieces?

I do feed the birds. Had a fox run thru the backyard yesterday. But we have it all: deer, skunks, raccoons, opossums, groundhogs, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, coyote and turkeys (I haven't seen the last two since last year).

Nobody "hunts" skunk - I just don't want them in me yard and would shoot at them to scare them off.
You would not want to kill one because it would be a stinky mess,

Sometimes we have Jehovahs Witnesses on our property...........I'm sure I don't have any food lying around to entice them
