From all indications I’ve seen, I tend to think Dr Michael Brown would be honest, fair, impartial? I doubt very seriously TB is going be totally vindicated and I still think his ministry is likely over regardless of the outcome.

I agree with John that all believers are anointed by God.
Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God(2 Cor 1:20).
But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know(1 Jn 2:20).
I've heard people say, "there was a real 'anointing' present."
These words are not technically biblical, but convey the idea of the Holy Spirit's presence "with power."
So, I would conclude that the Holy Spirit's activities in a believers life are pictured in terms associated with anointing.
A Christian who is anointed by God's Spirit enables the believer with His "power" to carry out some specific task.
If you put God First, you have Him at Last.

My impression is that someone who has a substantial anointing, meaning that the power of God works consistently through their lives, may experience a far greater anointing - as in presence and power of the Holy Spirit - if placed in a setting that requires it, like preaching in front of a very large group of people. Which makes it task specific.

Yes. And another thing we get wrong is that the anointing is "stronger" on some people. There is no such thing as Holy Spirit jr. or Holy Spirit lite. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever and is no respector of persons. What flows through us is the same Holy Spirit, the same power, the same "anointing" as anyone else.
According to your faith!
This is getting confusing again. In Acts 6 people are selected or commended because they are full of the Holy Spirit, power and faith. Translating into signs and wonders being worked.
Acts 6:3 Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom
6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people
So I was wondering if that was what Patricia King was referring to when she claimed in her video that Todd Bentley at some point got a more powerful anointing than she had and then he reasoned that he wouldn't let her correct him any longer.
