Also, I think the reason the church doesn’t do this as a whole is because the pastors don’t know how to, or are afraid of youth that may outstrip them in one area or another, or simply the pastors are not firm enough in their foundation in the faith.

He pastored a church that believes in OSAS doctrine. So he can't walk away from his faith. He is saved whether he wants to be saved or not.

Or, they may simply say he was never saved to begin with.

This is what happens when the church buries their heads in the sand because a teaching from the bible seems "uncomfortable" or "unseemly" for them to digest.

He probably also never experienced a relationship with and baptism in the Holy Spirit. More than likely his faith was based on cessationist teaching and he didn't have the communion. He knew about God but didn't know Him.

This is the same reason I believe that we need to get our youth saved and full of the Holy Spirit before they go running off to college. It is not so easy for liberal professors to rob them of an actual relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Yep. If a person wants to know where the Greek mythological gods (like Zeus and Hercules) came from (and many other deities) it is right there in Genesis 6 where angelic beings produced giants through human women. I never understood how anyone could get "sons of seth" having sex with "daughters of Cain" and believe that this would produce GIANTS.

Which makes the way back much harder now that he has no Christian past, except as a total hypocrite. It's awful.

It's not just cessationist ministers and people leaving or perverting the faith plenty of Pent/Charis who once spoke in tongues are going loopy as well

Major deception is occurring to everyone if they reject the truth of Gods Word

It reminds me reading about the Kings of Israel and the people who had a revival and then years later many embrace apostasy

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. (1Cor10:12)
