Just up the road near the creek there was a porcupine crossing the road. Thought I’d back up the car and click a pic for ya’s. Cute but dont touch.
Here is the chubby little Stab Rabbit:

Raining and sunny at the same time. Yup, had to step out and look for the double. It wasnt too obvious on iphone cam but very cool on the lakeshore.

Last evening I went for a little 1mi ride to the creek on my favorite bike. As I went out the door I had this little thought “take the .45” but thought nothing of it. The creek crossing has 2 large culverts and the area is teeming with wildlife. I leaned the bike against the powerpole and walked to the creek feeling uneasy having the bike some 30yds away. Standing atop a culvert looking at the minnows and beaver activity, there were loud foot splashes just off to the side hidden from sight. Pretty sure I walked up on a bear and startled it. From now on, I carry.

My friend texted me to say he saw a bear crossing the road down toward the creek. We most likely have several.

Did you ever get that trail cam going yet?

That’s where all the critter pics I post are from. I may set it up on a trail near my hunting spot to see what is moving in the swamp. The cam is at the trail behind the garage and with warm weather, no roadkills are supplying the action. The smells get rather offensive but do manage to frighten the JWs.

My SIL took this pic a few days ago here in Venice FL. Didn't even know the pileated was down here.

Impressive sight! Always figured them to be more northern range. We had an outdoor service with worship team on our deck and folks gathered on the lawn. In between are the bird feeders and birds were delighting our crowd. Just as I approached the mic for opening prayer, the big Pileated swoops down and latches to the suet cage swinging like he was showing off. It was only 8ft from me and almost in the laps of the front row. Talk about a crowd pleaser.
