My wife saw a mosquito buzzing outside the window. How can our weather be a month late and bugs be 2 months early??

Had a family of 7 Bald Eagles on the lake ice out front. Too cool. One snapped up the dead red squirrel I put out.

At 80m it’s difficult to get good phone pics but this one was swooping and gliding through for a fresh squirrel just now:

Now this is our big surprise critter of the week. This came right up on the deck where my wife got a real good look at it. She said it then turned and climbed the banks and walked the 100m to “wolf bait” pile. Trailcam only captured this one pic as it systematically carried away the beef scraps and most like stowed it under the beach shack on the propery line.
Most likely a Fisher Cat. Vicki and I saw one cross the road some 3-4 years ago near Boyne City. They are fierce as is their cousin the wolverine. Too cool.

Would like to find a place in Cross City maybe. It is a small town and I like small towns.

Those things typically die of lead poisoning around here. Red squirrels are a huge nuisance.

I’m up to 3 today, so far. I use a high velocity .177 pellet gun. Really keeps my trigger discipline in shape.

They have a nice general aviation airport too. Landed there several times when I was getting my instrument rating out of Ocala back in '02.
