Most likely a horned owl. We’ve have both around at times but I’m not sure how territorial they are. This one looked big enough to carry away the smaller of our two Pekingese dogs but not big enough to grab our 15 lb cat!

Dont count on that! They will still try and will allow talons to bleed the cat out before eating.

I have determined that using a snowblower is best enjoyed by neat-freaks. Plows leave piles and mounds of snow piled up at random. A snowblower cuts very straight lines, nice and neat, rather organized in appearance.

The past 2 nights there has been a coyote marking my driveway area. It’s a lone male. So last night I repositioned the trailcam and would t you know it, he didnt show. The hunter is going to be the hunted. I’m setting a trap.

A Pine Grosbeak came in today. My wife was at the window to snap the pic of this rarely seen beauty.they are a winter resident of the UP in their southern most range. After watching for 17 years I can cross this off the list.
Sorry for the poor pic. I told my wife it adds to the mystique of such a rare sighting.
