That's a perfect observation. You put into words what I see even in my own church. The ones I call pew warmers (even tho we have chairs in our sanctuary). They enjoy their salvation and attend church on Sunday but that's as deep as their hunger and commitment go.

The photo itself reminds me of a guy in his late twenties at my church who looks like a small bodybuilder and his wife looks like she is his groupie. Last time I saw him he was looking intently at me and showing off his arms which are bigger than mine as if to prove some point. He probably isn't a steroid user and he does do voluntary church work now and then but he comes across as something like that in general. I don't know what else he does and haven't listened to him talk for any duration though, so it's just an impression I have.

Yep!
Yet another attempt to "water down" the observance of Jesus' birth (aka Christmas)

which is why I, personally, am not big on the huge events where they have the "invitation" and a gazillion people go down. Many times, that's as far as it goes. It makes me sad for them.

Sadly, not a really Jewish face in the bunch. Wonder how that happened? Maybe Jews aren't ethnically diverse enough in the make-believe hipster world.

I think it's a hoot.
Why am I not surprised? From the lady who'd attend a gay wedding.

I feel the same way Lista.
And if I saw it in a neighbor's yard, I'd be very tempted to mow it down with my car. JS

I actually feel the same way. Makes me uncomfortable. It's too casual and cavalier...

I guess I don't take the froufrou stuff at Christmas very seriously. This is rather like the Santa/Manger thing to me.
then again, we tend to not do much in the way of decorating.. but I do have several little ornaments that are around all year.. so there you go.
do you guys have the same reaction to this one?
