I've been talking about cutting off the landline for some time now. $50/month so that Rog's sisters can phone... They're the main ones. I still have our landline listed for banks and drs. offices... We've had this landline number for 40 years and there's a little bit of sentimentality attached to it. But I get my friends to call me on my cell, even when I'm home so I don't really know why we keep it.
Only cell phones since about '06 or '07 or so.

I've been wanting to cut our landline out for a few years now, but Hubby insists that we keep it...
He says in case the cell towers "go down" we will still be able to make and receive calls - However, I'm convinced that if the cell towers are "attacked or hacked" the landlines will also be affected.
We also have the FIOS Bundle, so the landline, TV and internet are all connected - Can't talk him into other options - Honestly, I suspect it has a lot to do with him not liking change, but he says it won't save us that much $$$$ in the long run either...
Sooooo, saying all of that to say, we have BOTH.
We have both. We really don't need a landline, but it is hard to break the habit. Last night I forgot to turn off my cell and this morning I had a call from from Rachel in card services. We only turn on the cells when we leave home or if the landline is out.
I seldom use my cell. I like the landline.
