Thread: Have you microchipped your dog or cat?

Have you microchipped your dog or cat?

I'd like to hear the pros and cons on this. I like the idea of being able to easily identify a lost pet but I'm uncomfortable with the concept of the chip itself.

No. but I know people who have and don't give it a second thought...Christians who would buy into micro chipping children and even adults, say elderly...and eventually everyone because it will 'just make sense'.

People will buy in one stage at a time...I am refusing because of the truth of slow fade..the slow adapting that leads us to compromise...I don't want even my dog traceable by a chip...I can keep her in my yard..

I got my last cat from a shelter, and she was already micro-chipped. I wasn't about to ask the vet to remove the chip; I figured the cat had enough to worry about what with moving to a new home.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Our dog is 12 now and never goes out without a leash, and isn't chipped. Imo this doesn't relate to the mark of the beast. Folks put id tags on their dogs, this would just be more permanent.

All the animal humane places around here micro chip the animals before they can be adopted out. So yes, my cat is micro chipped. I don't have a problem with it for animals.

Both of my cats are microchipped. I don't have a problem with it either. It's just a way to ID the pet in case if it became lost, nothing more.

I don't thinks there's any danger of you getting lost, or not being able to be seen if you are that is. :)
