what's up with my cat?!
My cat is 11 or 12 years old...we're not exactly sure (got her from the SPCA when she was an adult) and she has just RECENTLY decided that she wants to get up on the kitchen table at every opportunity. WHY would my cat all of a sudden start acting out?!

Cats and dogs get can get senile with age and forget the rules and training.

I'm going to forgive you for calling my precious angel senile. Now...anyone with a reasonable response?

She probably gets up on the table a lot when you aren't around. Anything new change in the house lately, new routine?

We've had quite a few pets over the years and some of them well into old age.
The other thing that might be affecting her is your son leaving the home. They know something has changed and may need to see, in their own way if things are still the same.

Just like A.J. was saying...the oldest is at school.
Personally, I'm thinking someone must have left a plate out sometime over the Summer, and she discovered that there might be easy pickin's up on the table.

Maybe that's it. Maybe she used to sneak up there a lot but as she's aging her hearing and reflexes are slowing down and now you're able to bust her.

That would be terribly disappointing to think that my perfect cat has been acting dishonorably when I'm not around.
