There is no definitive scripture about our pets being in heaven waiting for us but I don't think it would be contrary to the nature of God to give us the desires of our heart even in heaven. We know there are animals there already and since God loves all of creation it is plausible that we get to be with them again.

There are some good articles around that go more into detail on the subject, here is one of them:

I agree it could be in God's character but IMHO there are no scriptures to support. Christians should be very careful on holding 'pet beliefs'. It is better to just say, 'I hope so'. Saying something fits Biblical absolute truth when it doesn't is a dangerous path to take for believers.

Allowing any twisted belief to affect our mind that is intended for Biblical restoration is like mis-wiring a house...may not cause a problem until down the road we find the hard way it has affected so many other areas over time..

Right, I agree, which is why I said the following:

I'm glad you bumped this thread tho because there was something I had forgotten about that I wanted to add. I've been with many animals at their moment of death and in most cases something unusual happens.

Birds will pick their heads up or suddenly spread their wings, fish who were floating will suddenly make a spurt towards something and I have been with my own sick dogs when they were put down and both of them tho lying in opposite positions on the vet's table looked up into the same corner of the room.

It makes me wonder if at the moment of their passing they see something and start going towards it.

I hope their are no pit bulls in heaven. If so, I don't want to live next to you!

It's been a year since we lost our beloved pet. I still miss her. I hope to see her again. But if not, I will just be thankful to be inside the gates of Heaven and hope to remember the fun and joy she brought me during her short life here with us.

It could be in God's character to provide that. Imagine how many pets would be there? Now, there is a thought or vision. But my previous animals, are always in my heart and mind. Even if they are not with me physically.

I've had pets I'm quite sure will not be in heaven.

Time to start worrying if the first thing you see when you "wake up" again is those pets.
