My 2 cents on Branham and Jon Alexander Dowie is that they were mystified and implictly alienated by their followers (in the extended sense) until they were lead into those mystical and heretical roles. Mystification has to do with darkness and alienation per default. I see an entirely different attitude when Carrie Judd Montgomery who was of good standing both inside and outside of Pentecostal circles reported from Maria Woodworth Etter's meetings for the Pentecostal Evangel in around 1915 and described in detail all kinds of wonderful miracles, without adding any element of mystification or alienation at all. She and Etter were simply sisters in arms.
Gordon Lindsay testifies he later went off the track but Gordon knew that Branham in his earlier years carried a greater anointing than his contempories
Gordon was a very experienced Pentecostal so could discern the real from the false and verifies his earlier ministry
Pride came later for Dowie and Branham and it leads to error and both sadly embraced false teaching

The wikipedia article notes quite interestingly that he shifted his position on the Godhead from Trinitarianism and over towards Oneness during the 1940s-1960s but he himself argued that he wasn't Oneness although he didn't adhere to Trinitarianism either, calling it "tritheism". Which can describe some extreme trinitarians, I've talked to at least one previously.

Hagin had prophesied something like 'the man that stands in the forefront of the prophet's ministry in America will make a false step and his life will be taken but his spirit will be saved' or something along those lines. That's not exact. Sometime after that he was in a car wreck and died.

I'm quite sure that that doesn't apply to Wigglesworth but it certainly applied to Evan Roberts of the Welsh revival in 1904. Maybe the roles that Evan Roberts and many of the American revivalists were molded into affected them negatively. Being leading figures to a too large degree they typically became overworked and were too much sought after and relied upon. They became celebrities but without the cool distance that most celebrities are able to apply to their surroundings.
