I find it odd in regards to Branham that the general wisdom is that "God removed him from the scene" when most who espouse that would never attribute that kind of death to the Lord. Even the hard core WOF will go along with the "God removed him" bit. lol

William Branham died six days after a head on collision with a drunk teenager that was driving on the wrong side of the road. The teenager was killed instantly as was one of his teenage passengers.

Of course, since Dad Hagin claimed to prophecy WBs death, it has to be "The Lord removed him from the scene".

John 10:10 The thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, life in its fullest measure.
Hagin's actual prophecy before it happened, and I think verified by Gordon Lindsey and others who were ate the private prayer meeting they were in when it was prophesied (I believe a motel/hotel room), was something along the line of 'The person in the forefront of the prophet's ministry in the U.S. (or world, something like that) will make a false step and the devil will take his life but his soul shall be saved.' Something along those lines. So even Hagin in his prophecy did not attribute it to God taking him out. The prophesy clearly said the devil. I've never taken it as God took Him out. Like you said, John 10:10.

On a side note: His cousin (Professor Sonny Branham) who teaches at ORU, is a striking resemblance to William. Yet, he didn’t even know him personally. I had him for Government. Attachment 5262
See my post above to John about 'God removing him'.

That looks like the ole devil hunter himself Bob Larsen to me.

Yeah, there are a lot of conflicting stories about that. I don't believe anyone got a direct prophecy to Branham at all regarding "being taken". Many, many upstarts tried to attach themselves to anything Branham at the time. He was at the tippy top of the revival food chain and even a minor association could get you on the road to visibility and success.

You can be part of a twenty person church and ten folks will "have a word" for pastor. Imagine how many had a word for Branham.

Anyway, I heard some versions where Hagins prophecy was found in a secretaries desk. I believe one element of ministry is the ability to communicate to the one being ministered to. If your "word" ends up in a desk drawer undelivered I don't think it was ordained of the Lord.

The more I read this the more I shake my head and be true to the path and calling God put me on. Certainly it must have been difficult to walk in such an anointing.

The phrase "God removed him/her from the scene" simply means God removed His hand of protection from the person. It's Christianity 101. Most Spirit-filled believers understand what is meant.

It was actually multiple deaths, a few teenagers in addition to Branham. I suppose he could have fallen down a flight of stairs or some such thing unless the teens were marked as well.

Anyway it has to be highly contentious topic because Hagin, not sure why he interjected himself into it, but apparently many wanted some of the shine on Branham to reflect on them, even after the mans death.

Branham had a very powerful ministry, too bad the whole thing is clouded by after the fact arm chair quarterbacking.

I heard Bro. Hagin tell the story personally, and that's pretty accurate how I worded it. I guess he could have been lying, but Bro. Hagin was not of the character to lie about something like that.

Abut the Elijah thing, I heard Hagin say that he 'fell into the error of Dowie', who also thought himself to be Elijah.

Right, but I'm pretty sure what I said was pretty accurate, that Hagin said...'the DEVIL will take his life...', not that God removed him. I heard him tell it personally, and feel I've remembered it pretty accurately.
