Some Megachurches Are Still Packing In Crowds
The River Church in Tampa, Florida, also held services this Sunday. Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne posted a livestream of the services on YouTube, showing the sizable crowd. Howard-Browne said attendees were practicing "social distancing, or whatever" though the crowd appeared to be dense.
"We are not a non-essential service," Howard-Browne said during the service. "You're probably going to get infected at some other place, not here."
The pastor condemned scientific reports about the virus and said that the pandemic was of less concern than the flu, a view that medical experts have disputed. The church did not respond to a request for comment.

Pastor Brown also noted on His weekly podcast that he spent a $100,000 on 11 machines that the River installed in their buildings that clean and sanitize the air.

what is the point of him doing that?
I really don't understand that mentality.

Wow!!! This could become a National News story. I am concerned about the backlash against Pentecostal/Charismatics. We need to pray for God's intervention.
I am concerned that the real story will soon get distorted by the liberal press and the enemies of the Gospel.

He's pushing back on the whole thing, he made these tweets prior to arrest.
The point he is making is this whole "essential" vs. "non-essential".
Of course the media has had his church staked out for some time, printing and broadcasting about him staying open.

Florida police arrest pastor Rodney Howard-Browne - CNN
At a church service on March 15, Howard-Browne said he would not close his church's doors until the Rapture, when believers they will be lifted up to heaven, according to evangelical theology.
At the same service, the pastor said he won't close his Bible School either,
"because we are raising up revivalists, not pansies."
Classic Rodney.
