I bought some bacon the other day, the first time in months actually. It's still in the fridge. Should I eat it to become immune against Corona ? Or does it have to be bat bacon ?

Getting back to the OP and my opinion on prophecy and the prophetic movement

How did The Simpsons predict Trump as president years ago??? - secular knowledge gives insight into future events but that doesn't mean it is scriptural prophesy.

IMO many modern prophetic people are relying on a mixture of secular knowledge and the prophetic to 'hear' from God, that is why there is alot of partial truth, error and guesswork in their prophecies. It's not just Shawn Bolz but many other prophets and they gain large followers who hang on every prophecy.

A good example are the many articles over the years about Israel having scientific breakthroughs in different areas and many believers read these articles and are inspired by them.
So when caronavirus comes along a prophetic person can get these thoughts mixed in with 'hearing from God' and predict Israel will produce a vaccine.
Israel may or may not produce a vaccine but it doesn't mean the prophesy was from God.

We had this in our city last year. A prophet published many prophecies for 2019. He declared that there would be a breakthrough in our state economy with lithium production and we would have economic blessings. I said to my wife he is not properly hearing from God as a few months earlier there was talk in the media that lithium production could be a boom for our state.

It was obvious this prophet had read or heard this in media news and it was in his sub-conscious. Then while prophesying for 2019 this came out of his mind as a prophetic prediction. He also said other 'words' for 2019 which were a similar mixture yet I know he has a real prophetic gift.

Genuine prophets can still get confused and produce mixture. They may at times get it 100% right and people assume every prophecy afterwards is accurate.

This is dangerous and modern prophetic people are doing this - there is too much mixture in their words and believers are accepting and running with these prophecies. Prophetic people are being elevated beyond what is normal yet many of their words are a confusing mixture and some downright error.

This is why testing prophecy is important but many believers don't want to test and they don't know how to test - they just want to yell 'yippee' and swallow everything. Also believers don't want to be branded heresy hunters or mockers so they go into the other ditch and accept everything.

Testing prophecy isn't just whether it comes to pass - we can learn to discern in the 'spirit' if a prophecy is fleshly, spiritual or a mixture.
There are mockers who also judge prophecy in the flesh and we should ignore them.

We should embrace the real prophetic but not be afraid to challenge when necessary

And we need to have grace in this area when 'judging'. The very fact that in 1 Cor. 14 Paul says let them speak and the others judge is because it is possible to be a NT prophet and wrong. He didn't say label them as false prophets if they missed it, etc. I read or heard something that Dr Brown recently that in the NT a false prophet is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Not just someone who 'missed it'. So we need to extend grace, just like we need it extended toward us when we're not perfect.

I agree that is why I don't call them false prophets and have said they have prophetic gifts but are mixing things up. The seasoned mature ministers should know better.

I believe the danger is they have allowed the prophetic gift to exalt them and they are relying on it for finances, ministry, build a platform and acclamation and they come under pressure to constantly come up with prophecies.

I have read some of the fans comments supporting the prophecies and it is dangerous the way people were hanging on their words...that is not biblical.
It is unrealistic to live your life that way.
When someone makes a comment questioning the prophecy many fans go on the attack.

In regard to grace we should not be hating or abusing prophets when prophecies don't come to pass. No one is perfect and we all get it wrong.
But prophets should show humility and admit when they get it wrong not make excuses.

Also applies to Pastors who preach on Sunday who are equally accountable if something turns out to be false about an important topic they have preached.
They should address and rectify it.

Why this is important is that some believers lives have been ruined by wrong prophesy by genuine prophets who just got it wrong so this is not a light thing.

I also heard Dr Brown say one time that many years ago when he and his wife were younger someone gave a prophetic word over them that had to do with some kind of calamity. He said they lived under the burden of that prophecy for several years. The person ended up admitting they were wrong, but it didn't help by then as the wrong word had affected their life adversely for so many years.
