10 Things I Wish Everyone Knew About the New Charismatics

    http://www.faithstreet.com/onfaith/2...ismatics/37847

There is a groundswell taking place, a grassroots Christian movement if you will, that centers on renewing charismatic and Pentecostal faith for the twenty-first century. And I think this movement just might be the most exciting area of emergence in the American church today.

While this groundswell is diverse, there are some common threads that I want to identify and celebrate. Some of us who are a part of this growing trend have taken to calling ourselves "New Charismatics" — by no means a formal label or category, just one way to describe what we find ourselves caught up in.

So, here are 10 things I want you to know about us:
    1. We are spiritual . . . AND religious.
    2. We are Eucharistic holy rollers.
    3. We're not impressed by big and powerful, and we're kind of obsessed with small and ordinary.
    4. We believe in theology, intellect, and the Spirit-led mind.
    5. We've got a new revelation of what it means to be prophetic.
    6. We don't mind being labeled progressive, but we're not crazy about it either.
    7. We don't mind being labeled evangelical, but we're not crazy about it either.
    8. We're missional, not antagonistic.
    9. We think emotional health is as important as spiritual health.
    10. We've left the violent End Times behind for a Jesus-looking God and a Gospel of peace.

    (More at the link) Sooo...thoughts?

Just another Jay Baker-type of rebelling against things they saw that wounded or plucked 'em. I see great deception ahead for this group, if they aren't already there. Almost every point is a red flag.

Just another Jay Baker-type of rebelling against things they saw that wounded or plucked 'em. I see great deception ahead for this group, if they aren't already there. Almost every point is a red flag.

    Especially this one:

    10. We've left the violent End Times behind for a Jesus-looking God and a Gospel of peace.

For New Charismatics, gone are the days of an eschatological worldview where a bloodthirsty God requires militant pro-Israel support and violent American nationalism. Even as the 2016 GOP primary race heats up, we are more determined than ever to leave this behind for a God who looks like Jesus, that preacher of peace who taught forgiveness, equality, and nonviolence before he submitted to his own death on the empire's cross — not a heavenly warlord hell-bent on running a cosmic drone strike at the end of the age.

Because for New Charismatics, what's driving us at the center of everything is following our King Jesus and producing the fruit that he requires of us, which is, of course, the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5).
Sounds like Bethel. Well, people don't understand WHO God is judging in the Book of Revelation or WHAT God is judging. That's the entire problem when discussing eschatology. God destroyed the earth once before....WHO was God judging and WHY was God judging (save Noah and his family). Jesus said: As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

So it will be at the end of the age when Jesus cleanses the earth from evil. God will be judging enhanced man, created in the likeness of fallen angels and demons, not "sinful men".

Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
    28 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;
29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

I think it's just a carnal thing, we always want to put people in a box, create a label for them. I've never met any Christian that fits perfectly into any category or moniker like "charismatic", "evangelical" or even "baptist". Learned the hard way a few times by assuming what others believed based on their "badge".

The carnal man is predictable, but the spiritual man, those led of the Spirit, not so much.

I thought I would pull this to keep it in context...

I actually agree with what he says here..

Speaking of end times...has anyone been watching the new CERN video's popping up on You Tube? I listened to one and it would make an interesting movie...

Which CERN videos are you speaking of? I've heard what Tom Horn and Chris Putnam say about it. I was just reading their commentary in their book, The Immortals just last night. They had a series of interviews with Jim Baker about it. So again, which videos are you talking about?

At some point the fruit is self evident, 15 years of blowing holes, killing and maiming millions, toppling societies, Christian communities wiped out, creating generational debt burdens and on it goes. It's very hard to argue with the fruit (none of it good). No one is safer, Israel included.

He is, after all, The Prince of Peace.
