Benny Hinn Admits Going Too Far with Prosperity Gospel

    https://www.christianpost.com/news/televangelist-benny-hinn-admits-going-too-far-with-prosperity-gospel-in-wake-of-billy-grahams-death-219011/

"We get attacked for preaching prosperity, well it's in the Bible, but I think some have gone to the extreme with it sadly, and it's not God's word what is taught and I think I'm as guilty as others. Sometimes you go a little farther than you really need to go and then God brings you back to normality and reality," Hinn, 65, said as he reflected on Graham's death with a ministry colleague

Ahem. Someone I know real well said this here years ago.

But as I've lived longer I'm thinking wait a minute, you know this doesn't fit totally with the Bible and it doesn't fit with the reality. So what is prosperity? No lack

Benny at age 65 is getting a little closer to eternity, probably thinking things through a bit more carefully.

The article insinuates that he has abandoned the notion that health in this life is for everyone but there is nothing in the quotes that indicates that.

He says he has quit flying by private jet too, that is very interesting !

He has always been thoughtful and has repented in public of things several times in previous decades. He has become a bit less high flying after the divorce-remarriage, the Paula White incident and his heart problems though.

Maybe he will give the money back he took through deception.

Evidence, please, or at least articulate your meaning more concisely...

Maybe it's just general gossip like with his claim that "Todd Bentley had sex with his girlfriend backstage during meetings while his wife was in the audience". Nikos ought to know what the Bible terms that.

A few of these guys don't live well, they live extravagantly. There used to be the justification that if a rock star, businessman, movie star could live large why shouldn't a preacher?

Thing is I don't think many know just how over the top the lifestyles are. Living well sounds good and most of us want that for ourselves and others but $5,000.00 a night rooms, thousand dollar bottles of wine, airplane fleets ... greed is good I suppose.
