Well I do, ... such a powerful ministry that got distracted and failed to fulfill its divine purpose.

I feel similar sorrow when I consider the abundance of talent in someone like Elvis Presley who shucked it all on riotous living when he could have made a tremendous impact for the Kingdom of God.

    ... missed opportunities!!!

Yes, in times of war there will indeed be casualties... but we carry on, not looking back understanding that sorrow can be an opening in our armor giving ol slewfoot a free shot at us!

God says mankind is without excuse so I don't sweat the petty things, and I certainly don't pet the sweaty things!

I heard recently that one of the Memphis Mafia guys that hung out with Elvis said he knew for a fact that Elvis was worried about his health and was doing a lot of ask for forgiveness and communicating with the Lord in prayer as best he knew how.

If the guy was sincere and acknowledged his sin before the Lord in repentance, I'd imagine we'll see him in Heaven... and no, they don't call him "king" there cause their ain't but One King!

There is much we can learn from those who have gone before us with both their successes and their failures.

Exactly. Most folks love to hear about the success, but I like to hear about the failures sometimes (as the Lord leads) since it serves as an example of what NOT to do.

Like the U.S. failed to learn from ancient Israel, and the stories from the OT are an example for us of both good and bad.

Elvis himself objected to being called the king. He would say something to the effect that there's only one King, and that's the Lord, or Jesus Christ or something along that line. I know I've heard him say it somewhere, some time.

    Edited to add the video.
