From what I've heard, when you talk to people who do some of the really weird looking stuff, they can tell you exactly what God was doing. Maybe this was God telling the man that his world is about to be turned upside down... you never know.
We had a ladies' conference some years ago and Holy Spirit was really moving one evening... the lady who accompanied the guest speaker was down on her hands and knees braying like a donkey. She was a very respected and proper lady... when it was all done, she had a complete explanation of what was going on in the spirit.
Too often, we want to understand, but with God, sometimes we have to just use our spiritual discernment and lean not on our own understanding. Just say, "Ok, God............"
That's where I stand on the "weird" stuff.

There is one movement where they start shaking involuntarily every time there is something spiritual going on and some people start yelling loudly. I dont doubt that something similar once occurred with someone but then people continue in the flesh or based on their own imaginations. Some of those people have trouble standing on their feet while speaking to an audience - all the time - because the Spirit is allegedly moving so strongly. Nope, I dont buy that but it is possible that they are mentally hung up on that manifestation and genuinely believe that that is God - every time. Ive been to meetings like that and saw a lot of people seeking attention to themselves and their spirituality through that sort of thing. There was a decidely carnal spirit to it, as if the Spirit had more or less departed but people simply had to continue like it had once been.

Just walk over and slap the guy on the bottom with the palm and make it hard! Then when he comes up out of his demonic rant, slap your hand on the forehead and rebuke every demon in hell out of him. He won't be smiling for long, I guarantee!

Too long ago, sorry, don't really remember except that she had scripture to back it up.

The only scripture I can think of is this one :
2 Cor 5:13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you.
Which suggests that the proper place for such things is in private or at least away from the public eye.

Something in the Old Testament perhaps ? King David dancing bare chested ? They saw it as a sign of him humbling himself rather than acting outrageously, though.
