Thread: The Gifts and Ministries of the Holy Spirit

The Gifts and Ministries of the Holy Spirit-carter-jpgThe Gifts and Ministries of the Holy Spirit-donald-gee-jpgTwo schools of thought on the Gifts. Both are great books but I side in with Carter. Most Word Of Faith churches would lean to the Howard Carter side because Kenneth Hagin and Charles Godwin taught similar things as Carter on the Gifts. Gee and Carter were friends and agreed to disagree. I would believe and teach from the Howard Carter materials.

What are the main differences between the two?

I was taught by others but I don't know who taught them about the gifts.

I remember one minister in Bible College that had incredible encounters with God that were legitimate as he had the fruit unlike some of the extreme things people say today but it's not God just their wild imagination. One student actually left as he was taught the standard basic Pentecostal gifts from his church and freaked out when this minister described how God used the gifts in unusual ways.

Lester Sumrall: Page 235 said about Howard Carter; I lived many years with Howard Cater, who fulfilled the office of prophet. At sometimes it seemed somewhat frightening to live with such a man. He knew so many things about so many people. Never would he leave these prophecies to doubt. He would write them down and circulate them to make sure people knew what he was talking about. The accuracy with which he prophesied was astounding. (He was with him until he died.) On page 95 he discussed more of his ministry, called "The Gift of Faith in Howard Carter."

I prefer Carter on the Gifts of the Spirit, but Hagin did also refer to Donald Gee's writings extensively regarding the Ministry Gifts (ie: the Apostle), in Hagin's Book "He Gave Gifts Unto Men".

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

Off the top of my head Gee believed that the Word of Knowledge and discerning of spirits were totally different things than Carter did. Gee had Carter share at his conventions.

Amanda Grace TALKS ABOUT: "MESSAGE FROM THE LORD! THE LORD WILL CHANGE..." (May 13, 2021)

In her talk here, she mentions lining up with the Word of God with Prophecy. Now Ryp should remember when I got this knowledge. Exodus 32:20
And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it. (In the movie it went over a cliff, but not in the Word.) She mentioned the golden calf being threw over a cliff.

So does that now make what she prophesized here not right?

I don't think so. I think the point was the destruction of the calf being used as an example.
