    Corona/China Virus Cases Plummeting

As the deadliest month of the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S. came to end, the nation is seeing signs of progress including plummeting rates of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations and accelerating vaccinations rates.

On Wednesday, 110,679 new infections were recorded, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, which is much lower than the 215,805 infections that were recorded just three weeks ago.

What's more, the seven-day rolling average of new cases currently sits at 135,904, a 44 percent decline from the average three weeks weeks earlier, a DailyMail.com analysis shows.

Forty-four states are seeing a decline in cases, Johns Hopkins data reveals, with just Alabama, Louisiana, Montana, New Jersey, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia, on the upswing.

The virus is morphing it's way out. Herd immunity and less deadly. Michigan is looking so good that Herr Whitmer has opened restaurants and with 25% capacity. Pffft

    Some have herd immunity.

I'm hearing way too much about people who have isolated themselves completely these last 11 months. How much immunity do they have. I know people who are still ordering their food/stuff online and washing everything when it comes into their homes.

In April I figured out this was all wrong and started touching carts and things people were touching and deliberately touching my face, etc. I knew that after a month of the craziness that I was going to end up being very unhealthy unless I did something radical.

My wife was like that for a while. That is, until early summer and she missed the grandkids. No one has a clue on the number of shut-ins that are still in the bunker but for sheer numbers can't be huge.

I'm really glad your wife got over the bunker/isolation mentality.

My mother is in the bunker, and wants the vaccine. I can't tell her anything bad about the vaccine because she won't hear it, so I keep saying "do your research". I know she won't research. I've posted a few things on Facebook knowing she does stalk me there. She's doing all her shopping online with WalMart in the western U.P. I know she's done some quilting get-togethers, but she says they are very strict about masks and six feet distancing. So, at least she's getting out. Her church was meeting in the parking lot, but again in the U.P. that's probably not as much of an option when it's icy cold.

I miss seeing my mom. It's been over two years - she is slowing down and obviously didn't go to Arizona this winter. Her husband (whom she doesn't talk about any more) is probably slowing considerably as well.

I feel for those whose parents are in assisted living or nursing homes. It's been nearly a year since they locked down the nursing homes. I know a man who has seen his mother once since in person since this started 11 months ago. His mother has since been moved from assisted living to long term care. He asked the facility management about seeing his mother - especially since he has already had covid. No, he can't see her. He asked, "what if I have a negative covid test?" - No. He can't see her. Then he asked, what about when she's dying - Only 2 relatives at a time and you must social distance (stay 6 feet from his mother - can you imagine?!?!), and then there has to be a 24 hour period before anyone can visit again--and it's regardless of Covid test results.

It's really not about the virus, you see. It's about control. And it's absolutely heart-wrenching that it's gotten to be this way.
