Maybe, or maybe a cash grab.

It could very well be a cash grab, but I know that it is very easy for me to tweak my back if I'm not seated correctly at my computer. I wouldn't sue over it though, unless I had requested to be reseated and wasn't, then the airline could pay for my physical therapy to get everything lined back up. :)

Even when I sit in a good position for too long, I can barely stand up straight. Sitting for hours on a flight, or even a long drive, is very painful at times and I end up medicating.

I hear you! The worst is when I've exercised and feeling pretty good, but make the mistake of sitting on the couch too long afterwards. YEOUCH! Getting older is not for the faint of heart!

Maybe you guys need to work on your core muscles ? Especially having strong spinal erectors is a good preventive measure.
