I was at the drive-thru window at the bank last week and noticed that the lady in the lane next to me had a mask on even though no one else was in the car. Then I heard her talking to the teller asking if everyone in there was all right, and if anyone was off sick. When she reached to get her tube returned I saw that she had latex gloves on then sprayed the tube as well as the contents of the tube.

As to having a dog...this is was just in the news.

Oh yes, we have them here. Some are riding bicycles with their masks on.

This is like a petulant toddler refusing to pick up his toys, saying, "I decide when the toys go back in the box!" - Sure, but as long as he doesn't pick them up, they remain......un-picked up.

Similarly, as long as people refuse to wear masks, distance, quarantine, etc. - it guarantees the pandemic will continue. Is it in our power to stop the pandemic? Sure it is. But that doesn't mean we are going to, since we show no inclination to do so.

(Note that I'm not calling the OP a petulant toddler; just saying the American public is.)
I think you have the toddler analogy backwards. Those submitting to toddler talk like "wash your hands" and "wear your mask" are of the toddler mind set. In what world have normal human beings not washed their hands, kept respectable distances from others and refrained from sneezing on strangers? In what world did everyone go to school or work or visiting others while sick?

Some adults just aren't going to regress into toddlerhood, they'll live the way they always have, decently and in order like their momma taught them when they were toddlers.

This was supposed to be a fifteen day deal to "flatten the curve". lol

If my skin was thinner, I could be offended at what is starting to sound a lot like mockery on this forum.

If eating meat offends a weaker brother or sister, don't eat meat.

We wear masks when we go in businesses and we mostly stay home. I tested negative about 3 weeks ago as I was having a colonoscopy and it was required.

There is a division in this country so mockery should be expected. Some will be mightily condescending about the high virtues of wearing a mask. I have received enough criticism from both (!) sides of the argument. This is the new norm.

I don't judge anyone in regards to how they are reacting to the virus. I am wary of how the government will overreach under the pretense of "keeping us safe" and I guess the more silly stuff we take at face value is probably how far they will go. I'm sure someone has already cooked up a new "Patriot Health Act" that will have us all chipped and tracked.

Speaking for myself and Mr C here. We are well aware of the value or lack thereof of masks. We are both high risk but we are not extreme as to how we handle it.

We are United in our effort to defeat the Invisible China Virus, and many people say that it is Patriotic to wear a face mask when you can't socially distance. There is nobody more Patriotic than me, your favorite President!
