A long, long time ago I heard an interesting story about Hagin. Before he died he sent out invitations to all of the main WOF preachers to come to a private meeting in Tulsa. If you can think of one of the big ones at that time they were all there. Once the meeting began he asked for all of his staff to leave so it was just him and the ministers. He basically laid into them, saying you're twisting the words into some sort of prosperity gospel that is not right at all. Really let them have it.

So this year I've ended up working with someone who was out there at that time and still does some small things at Rhema. I mentioned it off-handedly and he said he was there and it was true. Once he got done with his task he was asked to leave with everyone else and they shut the door while Kenneth ripped them up and down.

Yeah, that's pretty commonly known to be true. He wrote about a lot of the issues in his book the Midas touch.

That event reminds me of this scripture :

1 Tim 6:5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.
6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

I believe that the story is true, but I don't believe that he was harsh with them. It wasn't his nature. I have no doubt that he was firm and clear, but I seriously doubt that he yelled or said anything that could be seen as angry or over the top.

I can echo that. Copeland was on tv Sunday nights on Detroit's ch 50 and I'd catch the program just before bed and a great way to seal a great day in the Lord (he was my 3rd Sunday service). That was back in '81-82.
