Remember Art Fleming as the original Jeopardy host? At least the earliest one I remember. Then I think it was Hugh Downes. And I don't remember anybody between Hugh and Alex.

I do remember Art Fleming but what I recall seeing most of back in '64 was Concentration.

You know, maybe I'm thinking of Hugh Downs and Concentration. He may not have been host of Jeopardy.

Both NBC versions and the weekly syndicated version were hosted by Art Fleming. Don Pardo served as announcer until 1975, and John Harlan announced for the 1978–1979 season. The daily syndicated version featured Alex Trebek as host from 1984 until his death in 2020. Johnny Gilbert has been the announcer since 1984...

Hugh Downs was very memorable. That gameshow was a favorite of mine because of basic construct not dependant on any kind of luck. Raw memory skills and abstract thinking ruled that show and was something this gradeschooler had an abundance of. Wouldn't mind having some of that back.

Concentration was around a long time. I remember being six years old and having a Concentration game.

I had one, too. There was a scroll you would twist to move a new puzzle into the viewer. Cool game.
