I have lived through some of the most violent hurricanes of the last 40 years and can speak from experience. I went through Harvey, Ike, Katrina, Andrew, Elena, Agness, Rita, I was in the Gulf of Mexico during 2 of these storms and had to ride them out in a boat so I think I can speak with some authority on the subject.
As to your last statement, what I posted is a matter of scientific fact!

Thing is, science is the unbiased pursuit of facts, it's never "settled" so when you say "a scientific fact" you are positing it as a settled matter which is the antithesis of science. Good scientists know that they don't know all. That's why they are scientists, still in pursuit of knowledge. Otherwise we wouldn't need scientists.

Anyway, I've been through quite a few hurricanes here in S. Florida, from Andrew on up to now and my interest in them is more from the spiritual end. The Word is quite clear that we can and should intervene through prayer when in harms way. Jesus set the example in regards to foul weather by simply rebuking it, so I guess it's that simple and that complicated.

Who said anything about settled? Not my argument. The study of Hurricanes is over 200 years old and there are things we know that are indisputable facts. Of course, we learn more each hurricane season but nothing yet to unsettle the facts that we do know. Your description of what science is is flawed. We know some things as facts but never do we say they are settled but as of now they are known well enough that we can make very accurate presumptions based on those facts. You are confusing what things are known such as meteorology and things that are mostly theories such as "Climate Change"! Climate change is based on computer models that have proven to be false. Hurricane prediction is not so. Yes they use models but the models are mostly correct and they are not based on theory but on what is known!

Yes, climate change science is largely fraudulent as is the "science" in a lot of other fields. I don't think the hurricane models are all that accurate, I think it's more about plywood promotion and generating fear.

Yes, I meant "nerd" in a good way. Levi does a great job.

The National Hurricane Center does not use this spaghetti model! They have a basket of models that have a record of being the most accurate usually about 5-8 models and they average them together to come up with a predicted track. The entire problem with all models is that not enough information is known and conditions change in the atmosphere that can make the best models wrong. As I have been watching the modeling for the last 40 years they have been getting very accurate over time.

In the reservoir modeling we use in the oil field to determine how to exploit a given reservoir we have to have at least 90% of the data locked in to get an absolutely correct model that predicts reservoir reaction over a 20 year time span. We are very accurate in this or it costs us 100's of millions of dollars in lost production. Climate models such as is used in Climate change has only about 50% of the data necessary to have an accurate model. That is not nearly close enough even for a prediction over the span of one year much less the 100 years they claim. In Meteorology particularly hurricane predictions they have about 75% of the necessary data so they are better than the climate guys but still needs improvement.

The actual argument I posited in the opening post is the long term effect of hurricanes on global weather patterns and the effects on heat dispersion from the tropics to the poles. It is observable, and repeatable as we can see in the data over long periods of low hurricane activity vs long periods of high hurricane activity.
