Embarrassing Charismatics - to both God and the Church

Shades of Kenneth Copeland this is. I haven't seen an apology from him yet - or even calls for his resignation. Anyway ...

Charismatic 'Weather Warriors' Try to Rebuke Hurricane Laura. It doesn't go Well.

A charismatic prophetess and self-self-styled "weather warrior" who battles against Mother Nature and other demonic spirits set up a live stream to rebuke the hurricanes hitting the east coast, but had to postpone part of her rebuking session due to bad weather.

Katt Kerr, last seen assigning 100 million angels to the Republican National Convention, gathered up several thousand of her online followers and took a trip down to the beach where she could be in close proximity to the ocean. There, she rebuked the satanic spirits of the hurricane and declared them "illegal." (emphasis in the original)

It was never going to work.

And if a Reformed leader embarrassed himself in such a stupid, unbelievable, non-Biblical fashion I'd make a thread about it.

I have come across some terrible articles about Baptist pastors who are obviously Reformed and engaged in pedophilia but I don't put them up.

I may not agree with Katt Kerr but pedophilia is much worse but your previous posts show a bias to ridicule charismatic leaders and ignore the carnality and sins of Reformed leaders.

It would be easy to find one who teaches Cessationism. A fervent Cessationist, still easy.

2 Tim 3:5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

1 Cor 4:19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power.
20 For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.

They're slightly different in my mind TT.

Yes paedophilia is wrong and everyone would agree. It's a sign of fallen men, sexual sin is one we get get caught in a lot. However KK is trying to be like God, controlling the weather.

No, she's not. Prove that allegation or take it back.

She's not trying to be God, no more than the prophet Elijah was when he proclaimed stuff about the weather.

Those who do tend to be Cessationists present a reasonable Biblical defence for their belief Colonel.

And they also also look at the root and the fruit of the Pentecostal/ Charismatic Movements and see things that should have people concerned including the two mentioned here, KC who claimed to hear from God and then speak to C19 (and hear he obviously he didn't) and KK who 'rebuked the satanic spirits of the hurricane and declared them "illegal."' (which is just weird).

And then you have the "Claim it and name it" preachers; "your best life now" preachers; and all the others that present God as almost a Sugar Daddy whose purpose in life is to provide you with a comfortable life where you get everything you need if you just ask. Pity the Apostle Paul didn't get to listen to them writing,

"Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not? If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not." Word for word, 2nd Corinthians 11:24-31.
