What God Expects from the Pandemic

We could argue all day as to whether or not the pandemic is from God or from Satan. But let's skip over that and consider what God's desired response to the pandemic might be. For me, I think God wants the pandemic to bring back the "fear of God" to people. For a long time we have lost the fear of the Lord. With the return of the fear of the Lord, we should expect a wave of personal and national repentance. However, that's not the current reaction. Therefore, I suspect the pandemic will get worse, as will civil unrest, and perhaps some more "judgements" that SHOULD bring about a return to the fear of the Lord, which should then result in repentance. God help us if we don't experience the fear of the Lord in the days ahead. I would also like to see some noted men and women of God be more vocal in restoring the fear of God in us and calling for national repentance. We hear so little about that now and yet I believe it's absolutely key to releasing God's hand of healing in our land.

No need to argue. It's from satan.

    John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

    You're welcome.

And what the enemy means for evil, God will use it for His Glory.

Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

God's goodness is what drives us to repentance, including fear of Him. Purely natural disasters just get natural explanations, unless there is divine intervention. They produce the sorrow of the world, nothing more.

That works for believers, not for the world.

    I agree, Bookman ...

God is separating the wheat from the chaff...
Waking up those who have been slumbering in the comfort of their pews...
We are seeing the fulfillment of scripture in our time...
We need to take the 7 mountains of influence...
We need to be sheep nations...

I don't particularly like that scripture for NT believers. To me that still seems to imply God intended it though, like it was part of His plan from the beginning as opposed to just turning what the devil meant for evil for good. I'd rather use Romans 8:28. :)

Yeah, but there are some here who argue that Romans 8:28 doesn't mean what it says. (I'm not one of them).

The results of a lack or absence of the fear of God can be seen in the backslidden nature of the Church. One I had pastored recently displayed this so loudly that members couldn't hear it. Talk about spiritual dullness. When being called in to help them, the wreckage was mind boggling. The state of shock was heard in the most common phrase, "how did this happen". A church of 375 people, 3 sub-1hr services each Sunday, 20 minute sermonette and within 3 years was reduced to 25 people. How? Easy. Terrible choices in leadership. No wisdom. My assessment/diagnosis was simple and obvious. The fear of God is the beginning of all wisdom. There was no fear of God, therefore no wisdom to make godly choices in key leadership positions.

Our nation is a mess. If there is not a wave of complete repentance of sin, neglect of God and bringing worldliness into the Sanctuary of God, our nation will be wiped out in the next calamity to befall us.
