Was that much FORCE really needed for an unarmed man allegedly committing a NON-VIOLENT crime?

Once they got him in handcuffs (as the article stated), why not just shove him in the back of the police cruiser?

How dumb can you be to keep your knee on his neck when the man is crying out he can't breathe...that cop is a disgrace

Every time I see a video like that I get the feeling that the cops only react to a feeling that the perpetrator might become violent if they let go of the restraining. Until they no longer have that feeling and the perpetrator is deemed to probably be calm, they don't consider anything else. They behave like machines.

I wonder where they learnt that from. Experience maybe?

And don't consider themselves and others safe.

    They act as trained.

If criminals would not resist arrest like in 50's movies there would be no problems.

Is there as much kick-back when criminals resist arrest and harm police?

The cops in the video remind me of documentaries about special ops soldiers that have undergone too-tough training and have become machine-like in their actions and reactions. It could amount to a culture in American law enforcement where protecting oneself and one's fellow officers has first priority, some times to ridiculous degree.

George Floyd reportedly died over a counterfeit $20 at a deli

Authorities reportedly arrested Floyd because he attempted to pay a deli with a $20 bill that was allegedly counterfeit.

Newly released details also note that when medics arrived on the scene, Floyd had no pulse — and that the officer involved in the incident reportedly did not release his knee from Floyd's neck until medics arrived.
