Whitmer extends Michigan's stay-at-home order until June 12
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer extended her stay-at-home order Friday to June 12, her fifth extension of a mandate that has put her at odds with Republican lawmakers and has been the subject of mounting criticism and anti-lockdown protests.
The order, called "Safer at Home," will extend temporary business closures and movement restrictions in an effort to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Whitmer also extended her state of emergency through June 19, WJBK-TV reported. In a statement, she said that while COVID-19 cases and deaths are declining, "we are not out of the woods yet."
"If we're going to lower the chance of a second wave and continue to protect our neighbors and loved ones from the spread of this virus, we must continue to do our part by staying safer at home," the Democrat Governor said...

She has made such a mess of things. She picks and chooses what she wants open or closed. Even the Secretary of State offices in Michigan have been shut down for months. No one can get a new a driver's license even through the mail let alone those who need license plates for their vehicles. Lots of vehicles driving around without registration or plates.

At least she's relaxing some restrictions, as per following "Detroit News" article:
The governor's office said her measures to control the spread of coronavirus were working but cited COVID-19 cases in some counties in western and mid-Michigan doubling about every 10 days as reasons for the extension.
.....
Meanwhile, as health officials reported declining rates of COVID-19 cases, Whitmer has relaxed some restrictions in the state associated with her original orders, which have sparked protests and lawsuits.
She has signed an executive order to reopen retail businesses and auto dealerships by appointment statewide on Tuesday. And effective May 29, Whitmer lifted the requirement that health care providers delay some nonessential medical, dental and veterinary procedures statewide.
The governor has also authorized small gatherings of 10 people or less as long as participants practice social distancing.
As part of her plans to gradually reopen the state, restaurants and retail stores reopened Friday in parts of Northern Michigan as well as the entire Upper Peninsula.
"All of us know the importance of getting people back to work and the economy moving again," Whitmer said Friday. "We've already loosened some restrictions on construction, manufacturing, landscaping, retail and more. But the worst thing we can do is open up in a way that causes a second wave of infections and death, puts health care workers at further risk and wipes out all the progress we've made."
But I would think that the DMV should allow people to renew motor vehicle licenses by mail.

She is intoxicated with her lust for power and control, straight out of Elijah's days with Jezebel.

She vacations in a boating community on lake michigan, near Elk Rapids. We noticed she conveniently lifted restrictions for our area (We live 1/2hr from Elk Rapids) just enough and just in time so she could have some normalcy to her holiday weekend. Coincidence? She gives no good reason to think otherwise.
So this guy that lives in ER, the owner of a docking and boat storage posted a story of an encounter with the Whitmers. His business is weeks behind due to the shutdown. There is a list of boats he needs to have in the water with no time to keep up.
Tad Dowker posted on his facecrook page the encounter. A man contacted the front office and was very demanding he talk to the owner, Tad. Tad was in the boatyard in radio contact with his receptionist and needed to take a call. The man was very insistant that Tad's company get his boat in the water and ready for this weekend. Tad told him the shutdown put him 3 weeks behind and no way he can get to the man's boat no matter how demanding he would become. The man replied, "I am the husband of the governor if that means anything to you". Tad replied, "Yes it does mean something to me, get to the back of the line".
He posted this, I shared it on my account. Facebook yanked it quickly. Tad Dowker's page is no longer public so I can't tell if the rant was still there.
