I need to do the shopping for different reasons. DH buys things we don't need and can't use. He deviates from the list a lot.
Other things - like if I'm planning on doing a specific recipe, but can't get all the ingredients I need, in the store, I have to change my plans or find substitutes. Because he doesn't cook he can't really determine what is a good substitute and what isn't.
And the other side is that I've noticed that prices in the stores are going up on certain goods. I found spices/herbs that I purchased for est. $4.69/bottle are going up in price - creeping up. I need to know that and see it and decide action. Another example - I saw tin foil: 75 foot roll for 8.99. That's very high. Came home, placed an order on Amazon for the same roll for 3.89. So, managing our home budget means there needs to be one person shopping.

We have a great system! Mrs. Zeke shops online and then I go pick it up. We save lots that way too!

Stores should institute a "no prolonged examination of items on shelves" rule.
Any shopper who remains in a fixed position for over 30 seconds should be
summarily removed from the premises!!

Don't think that's going to work.
I read every label, unless it's something I've gotten before. If there is more than 1 of a particular type of item I could be reading a bit to determine which will be the best for me.
No body better give me grief.

I will occasionally glance at the labels, I like to check ingredients and avoid corn syrup if possible.

No wonder I can't speed through the aisles.
I usually buy the same items so I don't have to read labels.

As a man, I shop for me and Mom. Right now, we are doing online shopping and pickup. But, as a man, I am a food expert and do the grocery shopping...
Also, I'm fat. I have more expertise in food, so this also qualifies me as a better shopper.

Men in our family do grocery shopping. My Grandfather and my Dad and me. My wife never cared as I would always take a list of what we needed and seldom deviated from it.
