Trudeau says quarantine is 'new normal' until a vaccine is found

This. This is the goal... mandatory vaccination. Get the vaccination, be able to go out and earn a living, get life back to normal... THIS is what people should fear, not a "virus" that has about a 98% recovery rate. (Read that 98% somewhere, probably +/-) Don't get vaccinated and ..... fill in the blank.

Trudeau says quarantine is 'new normal' until a vaccine is found
    Roberto Wakerell-Cruz Montreal, QC
    9th April 2020

Justin Trudeau addressed media outside a snowy Rideau Cottage in Ottawa on Thursday, after projections by Canadian health officials released short-term coronavirus projections for the month of April.

The projections were laid out by top doctor Theresa Tam, who said Canada had the benefit of learning from other countries' mistakes.

Canada's trajectory appears better than many countries, health officials say. And while the country is in an earlier stage than other nations, they say that's allowed us to learn from the experience of others. As a result, the increase is slower, and per-capita testing is higher.

Current models predict up to 31,850 cases will be in Canada by April 16, with up to 700 more Canadians dead by next week.

"We anticipate that some public health measures will need to remain in place to prevent the growth of future smaller waves," said Tam, adding, "It is too early to know how close we are to the peak from a national perspective."

With that in mind, Trudeau greeted Canada and started by addressing the job report for March, which noted that over 1,000,000 jobs were lost in April.

Trudeau said that over 4,500,000 Canadian Emergency Relief Benefit claims have already been processed, with more to be confirmed by the day.

"Things will get better and when they do you can be sure that our country will come roaring back," said Trudeau, saying that our country had overcome adversity in the past, including Vimy Ridge in World War I, which took place over a hundred years ago today.

Trudeau confirmed Tam's modelling, saying that COVID arrived in Canada later than other countries, giving Canada the opportunity to flatten the curb.

"The top of the curve may be in late spring, with the end of the first wave in the summer," said @JustinTrudeau on a COVID-19 best case scenario. "There will likely be smaller outbreaks for a number of months after that. This will be the new normal until a vaccine is developed."

"We're at a fork in the road between the best and worst possible outcome," said Trudeau, saying that the top of the peak coming in the early spring, with the first wave dying down by the early summer.

Trudeau said that this situation will be "the new normal" until a vaccine is discovered, with other outbreaks expected along the way.

Trudeau says that quarantine and outbreaks is "the new normal" until a vaccine is developed. That could take over a year.

Trudeau then said that the measures already put in place are being "taken seriously" by Canadians, saying that things can be improved upon, specifically more aggressive testing protocols, and better contract tracing to better prevent outbreaks.

With a vaccine at least a year away, Trudeau said that Canadians will need to remain "vigilant," and that normalcy as we once knew would not return until a vaccine is found. Trudeau did not dismiss the possibility of multiple lock downs in coming months. Steps are in place, Trudeau says, to ensure that Canadians get through this first wave as "low impact-ly" as possible.

Trudeau said that his top priority for the coming weekend was to ensure wage subsidy legislation continued to pass, and that conversation with opposition parties continue.

'We are interested in looking for virtual ways to gathering the House and we're going to continue working on that,' Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says.

Here in Norway they plan to do massive testing starting in May in order to quarantine those who test positive and create a normal situation for the rest.

So how is testing supposed to work? Are people going to be tested daily? hourly?

They're going to test 100,000 people per week in a country with about 5 million people. Per population that's massive compared to any large country at the moment, except for the UAE and they have ramped things up a lot during the last few days. The aim is to test everyone who has symptoms and thereby keep the virus' reproduction number low. So far they haven't had the capacity to do so.

AJ, I believe this is a legitimate concern in all of the democratic nations that still maintain
the concept of individual rights. In an emergency, most people are willing to forego their
rights in the name of security and safety, and governments (even those with good intentions)
seem quite willing to take them.

Here in the US, we saw this in WWII with the imprisonment of American citizens of Japanese
ancestry, and we saw it after 9/11 with the introduction of mass surveillance under the
    Patriot Act.

And with the current crisis, we see the following disturbing development:

The Justice Department has quietly asked Congress for the ability to ask chief judges to detain people indefinitely without trial during emergencies — part of a push for new powers that comes as the novel coronavirus spreads throughout the United States.

Documents reviewed by POLITICO detail the department's requests to lawmakers on a host of topics, including the statute of limitations, asylum and the way court hearings are conducted. POLITICO also reviewed and previously reported on documents seeking the authority to extend deadlines on merger reviews and prosecutions.

The DOJ requests — which are unlikely to make it through a Democratic-led House — span several stages of the legal process, from initial arrest to how cases are processed and investigated.

In one of the documents, the department proposed that Congress grant the attorney general power to ask the chief judge of any district court to pause court proceedings "whenever the district court is fully or partially closed by virtue of any natural disaster, civil disobedience, or other emergency situation."

The proposal would also grant those top judges broad authority to pause court proceedings during emergencies. It would apply to "any statutes or rules of procedure otherwise affecting pre-arrest, post-arrest, pre-trial, trial, and post-trial procedures in criminal and juvenile proceedings and all civil process and proceedings," according to draft legislative language the department shared with Congress. In making the case for the change, the DOJ wrote that individual judges can currently pause proceedings during emergencies but that their proposal would make sure all judges in any particular district could handle emergencies "in a consistent manner."

The request raised eyebrows because of its potential implications for habeas corpus — the constitutional right to appear before a judge after arrest and seek release.

"Not only would it be a violation of that, but it says 'affecting pre-arrest,'" said Norman L. Reimer, executive director of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. "So that means you could be arrested and never brought before a judge until they decide that the emergency or the civil disobedience is over. I find it absolutely terrifying. Especially in a time of emergency, we should be very careful about granting new powers to the government."

Reimer said the possibility of chief judges suspending all court rules during an emergency without a clear end in sight was deeply disturbing.

"That is something that should not happen in a democracy," he said.

This is what's going on in Alberta... I can't imagine what Jason Kenney, our Premier, is thinking with this... they're already mandating either electronic bracelets or phone gps on people returning from out of country or even out of province.

Alberta government gives itself sweeping new powers to create new laws without Legislative Assembly approval

    Apr 6th, 2020

The passing of Bill 10 means that, in addition to the already existing powers under the Alberta Public Health Act, any single politician can now also write, create, implement and enforce any new law, without approval or consultation.

CALGARY: The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (jccf.ca) expressed concerns today about unconstitutional legislation that was rushed through the Alberta Legislature on April 2, 2020.

Jason Kenney's United Conservative Party used its majority to pass Bill 10, the Alberta Public Health (Emergency Powers) Amendment Act, 2020, introduced on March 31 and approved on April 2. Hastily pushed through the Legislative Assembly in less than 48 hours, with only 21 out of 87 elected MLAs present and voting on the final reading, Bill 10 provides sweeping and extraordinary powers to any government minister at the stroke of a pen. (The bill on Alberta government website: https://docs.assembly.ab.ca/LADDAR_f...5_bill-010.pdf)

The passing of Bill 10 last week means that, in addition to the already existing powers, one single politician can now also write, create, implement and enforce any new law, simply through ministerial order, without the new law being discussed, scrutinized, debated or approved by the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.

A cabinet minister can now decide unilaterally, without consultation, to impose additional laws on the citizens of Alberta, if she or he is personally of the view that doing so is in the public interest.

Further, the new law can be made retroactive to the time when the public health emergency was declared. This includes the right of government to create new offenses, again without oversight from the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. Bill 10 also increases the maximum penalty for contravening the Public Health Act from $2,000 to $100,000 (first offence) and from $5,000 to $500,000 (subsequent offence).

With many courts currently closed or highly restricted to criminal law and some family law matters, the usual checks and balances to ensure a democratic balance in our system are limited or non-existent.

The Public Health Act already had provisions in place for government to take exceptional measures, if the cabinet decided there was a significant threat to public health. Under existing legislation, section 52.1 of the Public Health Act previously allowed ministers to "suspend or modify the application or operation" of an existing law temporarily, in circumstances where the cabinet had declared a public health emergency. Under these existing provisions, a minister could suspend – for up to 60 days – the operation of any existing law, as he or she saw fit, if a public health emergency is declared.

While a ministerial order to suspend laws can last for only 60 days, the Public Health Act does not prevent a new order from being issued as soon as the previous one has expired.

The Public Health Act says that a declaration of a "public health emergency" will expire in 90 days, but the Act contains other provisions which permit the cabinet to extend lapsed orders, so in practice there is no clear limitation as to how long these restrictions and new laws can continue. The constitutionality of this provision of the Public Health Act has never been challenged.

"Bill 10 gives one single Minister the power to unilaterally make new laws and offences for the entire province," stated Jay Cameron, Litigation Manager for the Justice Centre.

"It is no consolation to Albertans that any new laws a Minister creates might only be in force for only 90 days. Albertans have a constitutional right to have their elected representatives involved in the making of new laws, especially the making of laws which dramatically infringe on their own civil liberties. Albertans have not given this government a mandate to override the basic tenets of representative democracy and bestow on one person the right to override the rights of millions because it is his opinion that he should do so", stated Cameron.

"This concentration of power in one individual, without meaningful accountability, opens the door for widespread abuse of civilians. Bill 10 is foreign to Canada's system of government with its checks and balances, and its limits on the use of government power. Alberta citizens ought to be deeply concerned."

"Any response by public authorities which restricts civil liberties, even in an emergency, must be a minimal impairment of those liberties, and have a projected expiration date. In Canada, the severe curtailment of civil liberties without projected timelines for their reinstatement, the shutdown of economic activity and resulting job losses, the increase of human suffering through confinement and restriction of liberty, and the closure of courts preventing justice and due process, are at direct odds with Charter-protected personal rights, individual freedom, and constitutional guarantee to be free from government abuse and overreach," concluded Cameron.

That's how they'll probably usher in the one world government and the anti-christ is thru some terrible humanitarian health crisis

Sadly most Christians are beholden to medical science they'll go right along with the goats

Medical science is in fact the wisdom of mankind doing things on his own, rejecting the Lord

    Jeremiah 17:5-8
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

Col 4:14 Luke the beloved physician and Demas greet you.

That was at a time when medical science was in its infancy and they often did the patient more bad than good. Still Luke the physician was appreciated. Of course God is on the side of medical science when they do good, they're on the same side.
