Word On The Streets Has It...

Not to believe everything thing I hear but stuff is out there circulating and I/We continually sift through truth, conspiracy, paranoia weirdness and mere scuttlebutt.

Here is what I have heard. My brother is a BBQ cook in one of our popular Pits here. We are close as bros are and yesterday he said he was approached by FEMA saying "what you are doing is good and we want you to keep it up". They weren't referring to their ribs and cornbread. Their outfit has set up their festival truck at a remote location to help with being closer to those that can't get out, also the way they are following Covid-19 mandates.

My bro in law has a shop in downtown Eaton Rapids, very popular and community gathers there. They are near Lansing. He says Monday will bring the news that we will be shut-in quarantined, nobody goes anywhere.

My very good sportsman friend is involved on the civic level with the intermediate school district. They met yesterday to discuss coming critical changes. He wouldn't say what, exactly and my bro and I respect his position.

You don't want to know what my 2A buds are thinking right now. They are all glad Pres Trump is in charge but also very nervous about the reaction to the National Guard walking out streets and it only takes one freak to freak out and declare personal war, soon having our guns out on the porch or arrests coming. Think about that.

Drug addicts abound. We have them next door and in our backyards. When they run out and need a fix, where will they go and what will they do?

Me? I'm a simple preacher trying to shepherd an exiled flock.

That sounds about right. I think they are just sorting out who is "essential", free to roam and who isn't.

NY and CA are already there.

Are you essential? Here's the list of occupations that aren't part of the state's workforce reduction mandate

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo on Friday mandated that all employees from non-essential businesses in New York stay home.

    So what's an essential business?

Empire State Development has a long list of industries and occupations that are considered to be "essential," and exempt from the mandate that all employees stay at home.

    1. Essential health care operations including

    research and laboratory services
    hospitals
    walk-in-care health facilities
    veterinary and animal health services
    elder care
    medical wholesale and distribution
home health care workers or aides
    doctor and dentist offices
nursing homes, or residential health care facilities or congregate care facilities
    medical supplies and equipment providers
    2. Essential infrastructure including

utilities including power generation, fuel supply and transmission
    public water and wastewater
    telecommunications and data centers
    airports/airlines

That sounds about right. Pump prices are heading for 1975 and the Ayatollah is going to feel it.

Just FYI in regards to lock downs, lack of groceries, etc.

There are many more good people than bad people, expect goodness to shine.

I mentioned in another thread that when we went through a lock down, no power (10 days), no groceries, basically a total shutdown after hurricane Wilma the people behaved admirably. I know that the internet prepper theory is that we will be experiencing zombie collapse with folks acting poorly but you can expect the exact opposite.

    God is good.

I am of that character fabric and certainly not a bunker rat. Just an unsolicited remark

Best part? Living in a small town nestled on a clean freshwater lake in N Michigan. Good people abound here so much so that any addicts, criminal activity and bad guys stand out like a neon sign. Oh, and Michigan has nearly 700,000 current CPL holders which I am one. They are the good guys and we look out for our communities.
