Historic: Trump Will Become 1st President to Attend March for Life

Donald Trump will become the first U.S. president to appear in person at the March for Life Friday when he addresses the annual event that draws tens of thousands annually and seeks an end to abortion.

Although past presidents have spoken to the March for Life via telephone – Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush did that – none have ever appeared live at the rally. Trump delivered a video address to the crowd in 2019.

It is held every January in Washington, D.C.

"We are deeply honored to welcome President Trump to the 47th annual March for Life," Jeanne Mancini, president of the March for Life, said in a statement on the organization's website. "He will be the first president in history to attend and we are so excited for him to experience in person how passionate our marchers are about life and protecting the unborn.

"From the appointment of pro-life judges and federal workers, to cutting taxpayer funding for abortions here and abroad, to calling for an end to late-term abortions, President Trump and his Administration have been consistent champions for life and their support for the March for Life has been unwavering. We are grateful for all these pro-life accomplishments and look forward to gaining more victories for life in the future."

The announcement briefly took down March for Life's website due to a surge in traffic.

President Trump, in his own Tweet about the event, posted a link to a March for Life Tweet with the message, "See you on Friday ... Big Crowd!"

The march brings together women and men of every background to march for the unborn. The March for Life website says, "We promote the beauty and dignity of every human life by working to end abortion – uniting, educating, and mobilizing pro-life people in the public square."

The announcement came the same week Trump proclaimed Jan. 22 (the anniversary of Roe v. Wade) as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. The 650-word proclamation says "every person — the born and unborn, the poor, the downcast, the disabled, the infirm, and the elderly — has inherent value."

"As a Nation, we must remain steadfastly dedicated to the profound truth that all life is a gift from God, who endows every person with immeasurable worth and potential," the proclamation says. "... Today, I call on the Congress to join me in protecting and defending the dignity of every human life, including those not yet born. I call on the American people to continue to care for women in unexpected pregnancies and to support adoption and foster care in a more meaningful way, so every child can have a loving home. And finally, I ask every citizen of this great Nation to listen to the sound of silence caused by a generation lost to us, and then to raise their voices for all affected by abortion, both seen and unseen."

Barack Obama Attended a Planned Parenthood Rally, But President Trump Will Attend the March for Life

Barack Obama Attended a Planned Parenthood Rally, But President Trump Will Attend the March for Life | LifeNews.com

What a difference a president makes.

Yesterday, President Donald Trump thrilled pro-life Americans with his announcement that he will become the first president in history to attend the March for Life. Trump will address the March for Life on Friday in live remarks to hundreds of thousands of pro-life people attending the event from across the country. He will be the first president ever to attend the March for Life in person, having addressed the March via video previously.

That will be a marked contrast from our last president, Barack Obama. In 2013, he attended a Planned Parenthood rally. Obama became the first sitting president to address the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

Not only did he promote abortion on demand and rally hundreds of abortion activists, Obama made a comment that achieved disgusting notoriety. He called on God to bless the abortion giant.

Here is how he ended his speech:

"As long as we've got to fight to make sure women have access to quality, affordable health care, and as long as we've got to fight to protect a woman's right to make her own choices about her own health, I want you to know that you've also got a president who's going to be right there with you, fighting every step of the way," said Obama. "Thank you, Planned Parenthood. God bless you."...

..."No matter how great the challenge, no matter how fierce the opposition, there's one thing that the past few years have shown," Obama promised Planned Parenthood at the time. "That Planned Parenthood is not going anywhere. It's not going anywhere today. It's not going anywhere tomorrow."

But the pro-life movement is not going anywhere either, and President Trump's speech will be a strong rallying cry as pro-life Americans prepare for a long election battle this year against one of the radical pro-abortion Democrats who support abortions up to birth.

Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver noted the unprecedented natiure of the Trump address.

"This is an unprecedented time in history as President Donald Trump demonstrates his commitment to the sanctity of human life as the first president to speak in person at the March for Life Rally. Through his judicial appointments and support of pro-life legislation, President Trump has been the most consistent and unwavering president who is a champion for life. I am very encouraged that this administration will soon help eradicate legalized human genocide and make the womb a safe place in America once again," he said.

In fact, President Trump's record is also in stark contrast to Obama's....

... And he has worked overtime to cut as much domestic taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood as possible.

Trump has repeatedly called out the Democratic Party's extreme position on abortion. During his state of the union address this year, Trump slammed the governors of New York and Virginia for promoting abortion up to birth and infanticide. He also called for Congress to pass a ban on late-term abortions on babies who are capable of feeling pain....

...His administration also intervened to stop the United Nations from supporting abortion in a resolution about sexual violence. In 2018, under his leadership, the State Department removed references to the so-called "right" to abort an unborn baby from a global human rights report as well.

Trump has appointed dozens of conservative judges to federal courts as well, including two to the U.S. Supreme Court.

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

    And the Lord said:
"See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.

I rejoice at his attending the march showing his support for life, but I'm shocked at the revelation that he is the first president to attend....
