Anyone want a snake massage?
I've heard it's a "super-relaxing and thrilling" experience, so why not?
If you do not have a morbid fear of snakes, then this is totally for you. An Israeli beauty spa is serving up the exciting trend of snake massages at the cost of $80.00 per hour [1]. Snake massages have been around for a fairly long time, and more popular in Indonesian spas. A massage therapist will place a few non-venomous, large snakes on your body and you have to lie still while they crawl all over your spine, back, face, arms, and legs.
It is believed that the movement of the snakes is deeply thrilling and nearly as efficient as the human hands in relaxing the muscles. The clients would just have to relax their minds and try to enjoy the cool, soothing feeling – which I can only imagine...

Absolutely not under no circumstances. Just the thought is too much

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I have a friend who attends a snake handling church in Kentucky. His dad use to pick up serpents. He said they haven't done it 4-5 yrs now after a number of deaths from snake bites really hurt their faith. Yet they still argue that they are right. I think it is totally nuts.

No thank you and the fact that Israelis are involved doesn't help. Maybe they should be reported to the proper authorities for mishandling animals, not sure.

That's sad. I wonder if "those" churches are falling off in practice and attendance in this day.

I have problems with seeing that kind of a church as anything more than a cult, whatever else they believe. If they actually handle deadly snakes without protection and thereby test the verse from Mark 16 that says something similar.

He's on Facebook. We chat from time to time and I've openly debated his doctrine of "Taking up serpents" on my page (which he agreed to). He is with that whole group that was on a Reality show a few yrs ago. They are mostly apart of a small loose fit fellowship of churches called trinity holiness. Super strict on dress code and divorce. Most of the churches are small and in the Appalachian area. Some fellowship with a larger group who do not practice snake handling but respect it. Many of them are song writers very musically talented including my friend.

They are only right if you ignore Matthew 4:5-7
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
'He shall give His angels charge over you,'
and,
'In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.' "
7 Jesus said to him, "It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.' "
Talk about "My people perish for lack of wisdom"! So many err when they forget context and the whole counsel of God's Word.

Yeah and the biblical example of snake handling is Paul who was bitten by a deadly snake without being affected and he certainly didn't handle the snake willingly.
