Well, if Jesse Ventura, Arnold Schwarzneggar, Al Franken, etc. can get elected, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump gets the nomination either.

Unfortunately, I still think the fix is in for Hillary to become president - Hope I'm wrong.

No, see, this is where I don't think you're understanding what is going on (no offense). Since you (I assume you still) live in a small town in NC, right? Well, thing is, Lista.....we have had an invasion of illegals. I'm not saying most of them don't work hard and don't try to live a decent life. But the problem is that many don't. Many use the US for drug money laundering, and there are entire neighborhoods in Cali that have literally been taken over by cartel and are completely run by drug cartels. There are many homicides and DUI incidents done by illegals that have no business being here. Many commit murders, rapes, etc...and run to Mexico. It's a huge problem. Perhaps you are not exposed to this, but it's a big issue. Schools cannot afford to hire the number of ESL teachers they need, so the taxpayers keep getting squeezed and squeezed.

With that in mind, Trump has his finger on the pulse of most Americans. And because people know that he means what he says, they trust that he will get the things done that he proposes.

In other words, it's very simple. Trump defines in specific terms, what the real problems in the US are. Most politicians wouldn't dare speak so bluntly. People also trust that Trump would put the best and brightest around him. People also know he can't be bought and purchased, and that if some cabinet secretary does NOT do a good job, they're gone.

Whether you like his style or not is irrelevant. People don't want a politician beholden to special interest money, they want a leader and a problem solver, period.

I think the fix is in for her to be the Democratic nominee. I highly doubt she'll be president, though.

Well...Winston Salem could be considered small town by some standards, but we do have the internet...it kinda keeps us connected here in the back water towns.

I'm not going to argue with you my stance on immigration...we obviously have different viewpoints, but what I will say is that Trump has ZERO diplomacy. He doesn't have the ability to see the greater good, he just says what he's thinking, whether it be to immigrants, women, Senators who upset him (by exposing their private cell phone numbers) or should we be so unfortunate... to foreign dignitaries. He's a war waiting to happen.

Ronald Reagan worked out pretty well.

I like what Trump says, but does not have the ability to negotiate with a foreign leader. He is crass and crude and more like a bully at times. It worked in the world of business, but it will not work in the White House. We have a nerd in there now and he has messed everything up. We need to get someone who can lead this country in the right way back to a better country. We have never been perfect and I doubt it will ever get back to where it was, but some things can be corrected. Trump is not the man to do it. God save the USA!!!

We have a heavy Hispanic population here and we live in the part of town where the majority of them live. I hear ya.

Because OKC is the intersection for I 35 and I 40, drug busts of vehicles passing through are a regular occurrence. I would say the majority of those arrested are Hispanic. I won't even start on the crimes.

My former best friend was an ESL teacher and even 8-10 years ago, she told me stories where illegal kids she taught were being sexually abused by family members. When it would come to light, the family member would flee the country, but because they were illegal, the family didn't even want to go to the authorities anyway. She said that after a season, said pedophile abuser would eventually turn back up, knowing they could get away with it. This was 8-10 years ago....it's gotten profoundly worse since then.

We really have a mess on our hands.

I was certain Barack Obama wouldn't get re-elected in 2012, but he did.

Do y'all think the conservatives and the independents will vote for the Republican nominee whomever it is in order to keep Hillary out of the White House?
