I live in the Everett/Seattle metropolitan area in the Pacific Northwest. Recently, a man went on a random shooting spree in Lake City, a suburb of Seattle.
Although the police interview at the shooters hospital room is not in the article, he told police he remembers nothing of what he did. "I was in a complete blackout the man claims." I went to the store and bought vodka, rum, and wine and started drinking at my house. That's the last thing I remember, then I wake up here in this hospital bed. This is what the man told police when he woke up at Harborview Medical Center. He was charged with two counts of 1st degree murder as well as 2 counts of attempted murder and other charges. The death penalty was thrown out of our state a couple of months ago. This man will end up doing life in prison because of killing people he had previously never met because of drinking, then going on a shooting rampage in a drunken blackout.
