    Marijuana Become Legal in Canada

OTTAWA — Canada will become the first major industrialized country to fully decriminalize cannabis for recreational use on Wednesday, fulfilling a 2015 election pledge from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in a process that has proven massively complex and remains fraught with uncertainty.

Concerns abound. Already there are worries about a shortage of legal cannabis for sale in the early months of legalization and a lack of retail outlets, leading to a possible boom in the illicit marijuana trade the new law is designed to thwart. Canada’s 13 provinces and territories are tasked with regulating the distribution and sale of cannabis, and they are adopting differing approaches. And Canadians crossing into the United States might be barred entry if they admit to using cannabis.

Under legislation passed by Canada’s Parliament in June, it will no longer be illegal for adults to purchase, possess or grow recreational cannabis, starting Wednesday. It is a far broader legalization process than what has taken place in the United States, where nine states and the District of Columbia have legalized recreational pot but federal law still treats it as an illegal Schedule 1 substance...

They legalized medical marijuana here in FL via voter referendum but when the legislature got a hold of it they made it illegal to smoke it. You can however, use suppositories or pills.

I guess it was their way of telling the voters to "stick it up your you know what".

    That sent a clear message.

Oklahoma now has "medicinal" marijuana. There has been a lot of confusion getting it going.

The voters also approved being able to buy strong beer and wine in the grocery stores. They can also sell cold beer in liquor stores.

I’m surprised Canada hasn’t passed this already.

They have big marijuana parties in the park in Ca. I drove passed one going on in the golden gate park a few months ago. There were thousands of people out there puffing on the dragon. Looked like sodom and Gomorrah with a big blue haze of smoke.

I remember '68 in CA, when the local High School pothead School boldly stated. "I will debate anybody on the benefits of marijuana."
I shook my head, thinking, "Is THAT what you want to be all about.?"
