You don't think the kneeling has anything to do with it?

That's interesting. I did a quick search and it seems that the liberal media has stopped reporting it but I did find an article by FOX and then this one by The Hill:

Multiple NFL players continue on-field protests during national anthem

-Miami Dolphins wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson kneeled during the national anthem before their game against the New York Jets on Sunday, continuing on-field protests that have taken place during NFL games since 2016.

While Stills and Wilson kneeled, Dolphins defensive end Robert Quinn raised his fist throughout the duration of "The Star Spangled Banner."

"We started the protest two years ago now and we're not going anywhere," Stills said, according to the Palm Beach Post. "It's not going to change. Activism isn't something you just kind of get involved in and then turn your back on it."

While no other players kneeled during the anthem this week, multiple athletes reportedly remained in the locker room during the performance.

Sports Illustrated reported that Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch, as well as Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and linebacker Brandon Marshall, were not seen on the field for the anthem before the teams' game.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett also remained in the locker room before his team's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The publication noted that all other players who were on the field for their respective games stood for the national anthem.

The demonstrations on Sunday came a week after ESPN reported that the NFL would not implement a policy that would force players to stand for the national anthem if they were on the field.

The policy, which was initially voted on by owners in May, gave rise to considerable backlash from players. The league eventually froze the policy in July after the NFL Players Association filed a grievance...

I told Mr Curly yesterday I thought not broadcasting the anthem on tv will probably put an end to it.

I think they should be given a choice:
    1. If you are outdoors you will stand for the Anthem
    2. Those who would rather stay in the locker room for the anthem will recite the Pledge of Allegiance.

IMO, there should be NO forced patriotism. If someone hates America, then standing & saluting by force is not going to change their heart & mind.

I’m not sure what their contracts say whether they have to salute the flag or not. Anyone know?

I was talking to a guy from CA who told me that the flag represents evil, oppression, killing the Indians etc etc. and that he would never honor the American flag. I see a lot of that attitude nowadays. It seems be growing bcz of the indoctrination that’s happening especially in the university system.

I’ve heard repeatedly that this is “peaceful protest “. The fans not buying season tickets and showing up to support the team is also a peaceful protest.

With freedom of speech comes consequences. I know a Christian artist that kept posting a lot of her opinions and controversial views. The doors started closing left and right. She use to have a full ministry calendar. Today she is selling a diet weight loss product at a local mall.

The motivation for kneeling of the fist is no longer 'the cause'. It's just defiance now IMHO and as long as players refuse my household will boycott....

No one is forcing patriotism, its a sign of respect. When a judge enters a courtroom, regardless of how you feel about that particular judge or even the law itself, everyone is told to and expected to stand.

If you're dining in our 'house' and enjoying the benefits of our country the least you can do is mind your table manners.

I will always be on the side of freedom of expression. I am also free to not watch nor spend money on man-boy theatre.
