Yeah, ask John Madden where this ends up.

It's a stupid choice of words. What an idiot. It must be in the Republican drinking water to be so clueless. And I'm saying that as a conservative who no longer considers himself a Republican.

I voted for the guy after a robo-call from "my friend" Donald Trump.

I don't know any more about the racist thing. It really is a crime that has no defense, someone calls you racist, you're guilty as charged. Go to jail, do not pass go.

So many different vernaculars for people. I grew up with everyone using the term "monkey business", "monkey around", "threw a monkey wrench into it", etc, etc., maybe the guy was just talking the way he knows how to.

Actually it was Howard Cosell. I know of that to which you are referring.

We seriously have to get over this. There is no doubt in my mind he didn't mean it like that or he wouldn't have said it. He's just not going to torpedo his campaign on purpose by saying something like that with that intent. And a lot of it is false insincere outrage anyway. It's just pounded on for political gain. I'm really tired of this overreaction to things like this.

Agree. I think that it is starting to fall flat with most people.

    BTW...He is full blown socialist.

Gotcha. Madden’s firing was about betting.

I agree, I used to use "monkey around" since I was a kid, and it had ZERO to do with any race connotation. Today there are a lot of connotational minefields that you can innocently step-on, before you realized you inadverdently goofed in the current hypersensitive environment.
