Since he has already been convicted, here is his defense.

    I don't regret my vote.

However, when I saw this story, I was like "Seriously, Dude - You actually don't know that Black people have been referred to and compared to MONKEYS for ages, and you used that terminology???!!!"

I definitely agree on the common sense thing. It was about just being tone deaf to the times, not being racist. Now should he be able to say that about without that kind of reaction? Yes. But he should have sense enough to know you can't any more.

And as I said before, it's mostly false outrage anyway being used for political purposes.

Gillum won the Primary but he didn't exactly hit it out of the park..

    Andrew Gillum 517,863 34.3% -Socialist
Gwen Graham 472,995 31.3 - Establishment (her daddy is Bob Graham, former US Senator)
    Philip Levine 306,621 20.3 - Billionaire guy
Others 212,481 14.1 - hey, it's Florida, we have many "others", not a bad showing.

Just over a third of registered democrats voted for him. His socialist message wasn't widely received. Me thinks he'll have a tough time in the general election but I'm sure it will be because everyone is racist. The Obama play book.

I'm kinda ticked off at Desantis because I'm going to have to put up with name calling until November.

Why the Left Labels DeSantis' Comments Racist

I didn't copy/paste the whole article, just the part where he answers the title. Most of the article is him reviewing all the criticism of his remark.
    ________

Since leftists cannot debate conservatives, they have to smear them.

To appreciate the level of dishonesty and societal harm the media, the Democratic Party and others on the left engaged in last week regarding Congressman Ron DeSantis, one has to know exactly what DeSantis said...

Why does the left do this? Why does it incessantly libel Republicans and conservatives as racists?

The answers are as vile as they are obvious.

    The Obvious, Vile Truth

First, the left fears that unless blacks continue to believe Republicans are racists, they will not overwhelmingly vote Democrat. And if they don't, Democrats will not regain the White House for the foreseeable future. The same holds true for depicting Republicans and conservatives as women haters. There is no better way to persuade college-indoctrinated women to vote Democrat. And the same holds true for Latinos — Republicans must be continuously labeled "white supremacists" and "xenophobes" or they, too, may not reliably vote Democrat.

Second, though most intellectuals are on the left, the intellectual foundation of left-wing beliefs is unbelievably weak. Leftism is almost entirely emotion-based. That's another reason the left smears conservatives and tries wherever possible to prevent conservatives from speaking in the university, on the internet and by the many big businesses in the hands of people on the left: Since leftists cannot debate conservatives, they have to smear them.

America is the least-racist multiracial, multiethnic nation in world history. The left's constant need to locate racism where it doesn't exist is proof of this.
