Aretha Franklin in hospice care
Just dropped by to make a note here and to ask prayer for her family.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/08/13/enter...ill/index.html
(CNN) Aretha Franklin is in hospice care at her home, a source close to the 76-year-old singer told CNN's Don Lemon.
Word of the "Queen of Soul" being gravely ill was first reported by Showbiz 411.
Showbiz 411's Roger Friedman told CNN: "She has a great family, she's surrounded by love, and the world is sending prayers. All further announcements will be made by her family. We just want to send love and prayers."
The soul singer has been dogged by reports of failing health for years and appeared frail in recent photos, but she has kept her struggles private.
Mods please correct my misspelling in the title, thanks.

Good to have you back! Next time check with me first
I got to visit Aretha's church in 2002. It's the church her dad founded. I believe it was called New Bethel Baptist?
It was a huge church in Detroit.
He was stabbed or shot to death I think in the 70s?
A true musical legend with real soul and spirit

Yeah, I was wondering where her funeral will be held...New Bethel (her dad's church) would be too small to hold the crowd that would come...an option could be David Ellis' church, Greater Grace ..but then I remembered Whitney's funeral was at her old church in NJ, so anything's possible. Aretha probably has it all pre- planned.

Ok I think her dad was shot, he was in a coma for a number of years before he passed though.

I just hope she has returned to the Lord with her whole heart and is ready to meet Jesus.
Like so many great singers and musicians (Elvis, Johnny Cash, Whitney, etc.), she started out singing in the Church, and then moved on to "the world."
Not saying she wasn't still a Believer, and I can't "judge" her heart, but the Bible does say "You can't serve both God and mammon"
Praying for her and her family.

Greater Grace holds 5000. That’s where they had Rosa’s funeral. She was PAW.
I think Whitney’s was by invitation only.

A few things about Aretha, she never left God or the church in her heart. She did go secular but she never sung anything vulgar. Nothing like the hip hop artist of today.
She always had the upmost respect for God and church. In fact, I remember one time she went totally off on gospel artist who were trying to make gospel music sound secular. She told them to do one or the other.
The other thing, she would almost always include gospel songs in her concerts and she didn’t care who didn’t like it. She would take off shouting and having church.
