Georgia's Priciest House hits the Market, built by Director/Actor Tyler Perry now owned by Minister
The most expensive home in Atlanta, a hilltop mansion built by director-actor Tyler Perry, is back on the market and poised to break the $17.5 million price record it set in 2016.
The lavish mansion styled like France's Palace of Versailles—featuring indoor and outdoor pools plus an underground ballroom—hit the market on Thursday for $25 million, making it the most expensive house for sale in Georgia, according to the state's multiple listing service. Mr. Perry, 48, who operates his eponymous film studios from Atlanta, set a record in 2016 when he sold his behemoth home for $17.5 million to televangelist David Turner, according to property records.
Mr. Perry, known for playing the comedic character Madea, built the opulent, gated estate in 2007 after assembling multiple parcels of land in Atlanta's affluent neighborhood of Buckhead, according to listing agent Chase Mizell of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty. Mr. Mizell is co-listing the home with Josh Reeves, also of Sotheby's.
The nearly 17-acre property sits atop a hill with stunning views and is bordered on one side by the Chattahoochee River.
"The river provides a nice privacy buffer on one side of the property," Mr. Mizell said, adding that it also offers water sports like rafting and kayaking in the owner's backyard.
Mr. Perry outfitted the estate with a range of amenities, including a tennis court with a ballroom built underneath, a sauna and a steam room, investing around $40 million to put the home together, Mr. Mizell said. Mr. Perry could not immediately be reached for comment.

What a beautiful home! I hope it's bought by another Christian. :-)

I don't think it's the most expensive home in Atlanta even though it says that.

What makes you think that? Do you know of other homes that are selling for more?

Ehhh, what difference does it make whether it's truly the "most expensive" home in Atlanta or not?
I often wonder why we tend to respond negatively or contrary to our Sisters and Brothers posts, when it's not even necessary sometimes - To me, this was just a simple FYI, This Is Interesting post - Not another opportunity to start a debate.
Maybe I'm reading this wrong, and if so, I apologize, but do we always have to challenge everything someone else says in here - Especially when it's not a blatant error or attempt to lie, deceive or misrepresent the truth?

Yes, you're reading it wrong. I had no 'debate' about my post at all. It was just another FYI about what was being posted. Over the years I've heard of houses being on the market for more than that in Atlanta so I posted it. Why so defensive?

Houses are sold for more than that here in the Oslo area. Atlanta is five to ten times as populous and the percentage of really rich people is greater in the US than it is here.

That house would probably go for $125-150 million in parts of California.
A cardboard box goes for a million here.
