Canada Goes to Pot!
With the final stamp of approval from the Crown,
recreational marijuana will become legal in Canada after the Canadian Senate voted 52-29 in favor of legalization Tuesday.
The Cannabis Act, which still needs royal assent from Gov. Gen. Julie Payette, passed the final step in becoming a law after a yearlong debate in the country's House and Senate. Payette is expected to approve the bill as soon as Wednesday, according to CTV News.
Once approved, it’s likely to take effect in September, giving provinces, territories, and other stakeholders time to decide how they will regulate and govern in accordance with the new nationwide law.

I'm not pro-pot in terms of ok, everybody get high. I'm pro-pot legalization because I don't think people that actually smoke the stuff are criminals.
I was watching one of those live cop shows for a few minutes the other day and it was kind of sickening to see otherwise law abiding citizens subject to all manner of craziness over weed. I think the laws against pot have a tendency to destroy potential, especially for the younger ones. Getting a criminal record pretty much sets them back for no good reason.

Well its gonna be on the ballot in November. But this is how casinos got legalized here, they were saying that Michiganders were supposedly flocking to Canada to play so why not make it legal to keep the money here.

The economic argument is a good one. Why not let Hippie farmer make same money instead of cartels?
