Was that the intent all along? Who knows....most people 'just having a meeting' would respect the policy and buy a cup of coffee....not make an uproar...AND who knows, maybe the video is part of the scam....would not surprise me at all..

    Get Ready!!

Black Guy Walks Into Starbucks, Calls Them 'Racist,' Demands Free Coffee, Gets It Immediately

A comedic genius on Twitter shared video of himself walking into a Starbucks and demanding they give him a free coffee as "reparations" for their "racism."

"I heard ya'll was racist, so I came to get my free coffee," Bryan Sharpe, who goes by "Hotep Jesus" on Twitter, says to a white girl behind the counter. "I heard ya'll don't like black people, so I came to get my Starbucks reparations voucher."

    The white barista complied immediately.

"Is that a real thing?" she says. "I mean, I'll give it to you, I saw that on my Twitter last night and I was like, what the ...!"

Soooo, you think this whole thing was a "set-up" from the very beginning, and their Caucasian friend was in on it too?

EDITED TO ADD: I suppose it's all a matter of perspective? - As a Black person, my first thought was "Here we go again, these guys didn't appear to be thugs or disruptive, why call the police? - They'd probably leave eventually anyway."

But it's obvious that Caucasians think: "It's a set-up - They're trying to get a big settlement from Starbucks"

(Not throwing rocks at anyone, or trying to start (yet another) "Race Debate," but just thinking out loud.)

My question is how long were they sitting there? If they were sitting there for 30min and not buying anything, I think it's fine for a manager to let them know. Did they say they had no intentions of buying anything or leaving?

There's a lady (customer)who got the part of the police coming in on video, but I'm not sure she got the back story.

Homelessness has risen in cities and a lot of them loiter in hospitals, McDonald's and elsewhere. Many are meth addicts and mentally unstable. I'm not saying these fellas are, but a manager often sees the same ones coming in repeatedly.

If you're going to sit in a coffee shop, use their WiFi, outlets, restrooms, at least buy a cup of coffee. Am I missing something?

Yep, it's just a matter of perspective. Not that the white girl was in on it, but saying their actions could have been deliberate trying to force that situation where someone would call the police. But I have no idea.

The other thing too I guess is depending on perspective, is the way it's reported immediately and reactionary without any attempt to gather all the facts, and even more so the predictable reaction from people who have no idea of what all the facts are, just what's being reported. Such as the while girl has done this before with people that are loitering as there appears to be a law against it where they are, she didn't just do it because they were black per se. I don't feel like finding it to get the details, but something along those lines.

I'm white, and I'm 'here we go again' from my perspective, and you're black and 'here we go again' from your perspective. That's just how it is these days. Doesn't mean I'm a racist or you're a racist. We just have different perspectives because of who we are.

On this, we totally agree, Brother!

I'd just love to know how the conversation between the Manager and the two guys went...

Did she ask them to leave after a "reasonable" amount of time, when it became obvious that they were not going to purchase anything? - Was she rude, threatening and nasty?

Did they respond in a rude, threatening and nasty manner at her request to either purchase something or leave? - Or did they repeatedly explain that they were waiting for another person to arrive, before placing an order, and determined to stand their ground?

    Inquiring minds wanna know...

I tend to agree Rom. When real racism rears its ugly head, many whites are numb to it because they've been conditioned to think it's either paranoia or a scam to get lawsuit money.

If they’re going to enforce that rule, then it should include EVERYONE. Not just the ones they think look suspicious.
