    The Hockey Chaplin Speaks

This video is pulled from last night's hour long, nation wide TELEVISED prayer vigil for the 12 Humboldt Broncos hockey team members, the head coach, the bus driver and the radio announcer who were killed Friday night, April 7. That's over half the people who were on that bus. Last I read, only one survivor had been released from hospital. Some of them are in the same ICU ward as a young man my son went to school with who I'm praying for.

Prime Minister Trudeau was in attendance and keep in mind that as far as we can figure out, he's a practicing Muslim, but raised in the Catholic Church.

Humboldt is a small city in central Saskatchewan of about 6000 population. These players are billeted in local homes - one of the homes had 3 of the boys who died, living there. They become family in a hockey season. As I said in the other thread, this accident has affected all of western Canada but because hockey is what it is, it's affecting hockey players and fans across the globe. Canadian players are everywhere! I even saw on FB, a one minute moment of silence before a game in Sweden!

I even found out last night that one of the players who died is my husband's cousin's great nephew....

Not only that, but almost immediately, a GoFundMe page was set up and in the first 12 hours, over $1million was raised and right now, the total sits at over $5.6Million, to be distributed to the player's families for expenses incurred from the accident.

Anyways, here's the Team Chaplain, Sean Brandow's response to the tragedy.
