Dads Unique Punishment to Combat Son's Bullying Goes Viral...

A father decided to punish his son in a unique way, by making him run to school after learning he was bullying classmates on the bus.

The video posted by the dad has gone viral, having been shared half a million times already.

Parenting 101. A child needs to learn his or her lesson after doing something wrong.

Don't let Democrats know about this, though. They'll find a way to blow the story entirely out of proportion – and probably even call Child Protective Services.

    Check it out...

The father in the video, which was posted to Facebook on Saturday, is apparently named Bryan Thornhill, and his son is only shown from a distance. You'll see why in a second.

"All right everybody, welcome to 'Better Listen to Your Dad 2018,'" the father says at the beginning of the video, while sitting behind the wheel of his vehicle on a rainy morning.
The father then explains that his 10-year-old son Hayden was discovered to be bullying other students on the school bus.

Hayden, according to the father, "got kicked off the bus for three days because he was being a little bully."
"Which I do not tolerate," the father continues. "I cannot stand (bullies)."

"And therefore, he has to now run to school," the father said, his phone camera trained on his running son. "We're now about one mile from the school. So, all week, he's got the experience of running to school.

I agree this father made a sound decision in disciplining his bullying son. I just think making him run in the rain carrying a backpack is a little over the top. But the boy seems to be doing fine. Maybe it's because I'm somewhat of a softie with it comes to YOUNG children, and I certainly wouldn't judge the father. He did what he thought best and he didn't abuse the child, so I say kudos to him.

Saw this on the news yesterday, and of course, the commentator said it appeared to be "Child Abuse"

I'm glad they are consequences to his bullying. And I'm sure the punishment can vary from dad to dad. If I was the dad, I'd do it some other way, including a spanking. I might also sign him up for some sort of community service. Maybe helping in a classroom with disabled kids. That seems to fit the crime better.

I firmly believe in spanking, but in the case of bullying, I think it would be counter productive.. Community service sounds like an excellent idea.

The teacher said his behavior improved, as did his father.

It's the exercise. Kids have so much energy and if it is not dissipated through physical activity it manifests in fidgeting, ADHD (bogus excuse to drug children), bad behavior in general. The education overlords have probably banned recess and physical education in favor of ritalin and other drugs.

My third grade teacher is memorable in this respect, she had some kind of "knower" in her head, probably just a good dose of common sense. She had us go OUTSIDE everyday and play kickball. It wasn't on schedule, it seemed spontaneous, she'd just say "OK, everyone outside, we're going to play kick ball". I look back now and realize that she was tracking restlessness and when it hit a limit it was time to drain us of our excess energy. How brilliant.

    Best teacher ever.

Kickball is loved by all children, no major skills necessary, simple, enjoyed by all.

Wasn't this a situation of the kid bullying on the bus? Thus the response was to remind the kid that having the privilege of riding the bus was not an entitlement and his behaviour would cost him that privilege...

I agree with you and John. I just had a slight issue with him running in the rain carrying his backpack which appeared a little heavy. But, he seemed to do very well. How he kept up such a fast pace, IMO, was an amazing feat! I got a little tired just watching him! lol

I mean isn't that the point? It wasn't supposed to be 'easy'. :)

He just better be glad he didn't have my daddy. When I was a kid we didn't have 'time out', we had 'black out'.

Haha Same here! In my James Brown voice, “papa don’t, papa don’t, papa don’t; papa don’t take no mess!”
